- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We were having pet issues at home and couldn't find anyone that could actually do a good job cleaning them up. I did research and found the Rotovac 360 to be the most amazing steam cleaning equipment with its' patented technology for scrubbing carpets clean. It only figures, as which would you think would do the best job: Old fashioned wand which cleans with back and forth action of technician cleaning it or the Rotovac 360 spinning and scrubbing several hundred times a minute in every direction with its' jet of water?! Anyway, I invested in it and started cleaning for friends and family. I was constantly told that I was getting up stains others were not able to get out and decided to start Steam Clean My Carpets, LLC. The rest is history as they say.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would stress reading reviews on a company first before contacting anyone. We constantly are hearing horror stories about "bait and switch" companies where the client was quoted one price and was charged much higher at the end. Ask for an invoice before the job starts. Oh, and you would be surprised how a lot of the dirt cheap company specials are just "rinsing" the carpet. You may laugh but we hear all the time stories about if you want a cleanser added or pre-spray, the price will be much higher. It is included in our standard cleaning as it should be.
