FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing for cabinetry is complicated. The main increases in the price are accessories, such as a lazy susan, moldings, and customization, such as double stacked upper cabinets. There are approximately 2000 parts on average to every kitchen and they all have a price. This of course is not including tile accessories and countertop My job is to create something that has the parts you need within the budget you desire.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and I have continuing education course I take for 20/20 design, which is the master program for most kitchen cabinetry company I work with.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been creative and wanted to do something with design from a very young age. If I can remember at the age of 7 I wanted to be an architect; then at 22 decided to jump into the design industry feet first. While in college I came to the conclusion that I wanted to work with kitchens primarily because I liked the construction part of design verses the decorating concept.
