- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have professional training in salsa caleña, Afro-Cuban dance, salsa mambo, and bachata, developed through years of study, performance, and teaching, with a strong focus on technique, musicality, and partner work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started in this work through my passion for dance and teaching. Growing up in Cali, Colombia, salsa was part of my everyday life, and over time I realized I loved helping others build confidence, connection, and joy through dance. That passion led me to create Apex Latin Dance.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A recent project I’m fond of was developing a structured salsa training program for adult dancers at Apex Latin Dance. It focused on fundamentals, musicality, and partner connection. The project took approximately three months from planning to implementation and had a strong impact on student progress and class engagement.
