Be very careful with this company. Don’t be fooled by the “$0 estimate”. They showed up, opened/closed our window, and charged $75 for a technician service and inspection fee. That’s not a “$0 estimate” that’s a “$75 mandatory inspection fee which will be waived if there is an issue found”. I wouldn’t have minded if we knew about the fee prior to the appointment, but a bill was handed to us at the end of the appointment without any warning. My sister was at my place to get it sorted since I couldn’t be there, and the tech refused to leave before it was paid even though I requested to speak to the office through thumbtack first to ask what the bill was for. We made an appointment for one week ago, and they never showed up due to some “confusion”. I never received a missed call from them, and not even a message through thumbtack until I personally reached out that night. If they truly tried to call, why not attempt to send a message as a follow up? I foolishly made a second appointment and ignored the red flags, and was hit with a sneaky $75 bill after the 10min (or less) appointment was complete for checking the window. You can clearly see in our messages the $0 estimate and talking only about the appointment, no $75 technician fees were ever mentioned. Again, I absolutely wouldn’t have minded this fee if I was told up front….but being told that the estimate was free, then slipped a bill at the end after discovering no issue with the window feels like a scam. After I tried to confront them about the bill through Thumbtack, I was ghosted. I understand they want to be paid for their time, but just SAY that up front. Imagine if their fee was double or even triple that, and you didn’t know until the end of the appointment. That could really set someone back if they weren’t prepared. This is the first time I’ve had to write a negative Thumbtack review but I feel it’s important to help others avoid the same issue. I’ll post screenshots of conversation to avoid a reply from the company in attempt to discredit this review.
