I think she is a very good therapist, and I truly value her kindness, her experience, and the extra support she provided during a very painful time.
I learned from her the importance of listening and allowing the other person to express their pain. However, our marriage was deeply wounded and fragile, and I wish she had more clearly recognized the crisis we were facing. After bringing so much pain and unresolved hurt to the surface, we were left emotionally exposed without clear guidance, practical tools, or something concrete to work on together between sessions. I wish we had been given more help to navigate those difficult days, remain connected, and contain the crisis rather than simply carrying all of that pain with us until the next appointment.
I understand that no therapist is responsible for saving a marriage or changing someone's decision. Still, given how fragile our situation was, I wish there had been a greater sense of urgency in helping us slow things down, reduce the tension, work through the crisis, and explore every possible opportunity for healing and finding ways to reconnect as a couple before any major decisions were made.
I am grateful for what I learned from her and for the care she showed me.
