This was a delicate project to repair a typographical error in a parchment from the Vatican--a very personal item to my wife and me. As the project started, I appreciated her detailed evaluation of the problem and the solutions she could implement--advising me of the risks as well as the desired outcome. Her work was amazing and produced a near perfect correction. I highly recommend Bea for her skill in calligraphy, her creativity in approach, and her passionate concern with satisfying the customer. She made my personal problem, her mission. I would highly recommend this skilled artist and professional, and would certainly seek out her services in the future.

I had Bea turn a poem I wrote for my wife for our anniversary into calligraphy and she painted a beautiful floral border along the edge. We raise a specific type of dog and Bea took pictures I sent her of our pups and painted a custom dog matching our breed in the border as well. The results were beautiful and MORE than I expected when I first went online to find an artist to turn my vision into a finished gift. My only complaint is NOT with Bea. She was awesome, her pricing was fair, she communicated constantly and the results were amazing. My complaint is with the Thumbtack platform. I was asked to enter my zip code to find artists that serviced my area. I assumed (I know now that this is on me) that an artist that serviced my zip code was located NEAR my zip code. I ordered the piece about 3 weeks before my anniversary and assumed that as long as Bea finished it before the deadline I would pick the finished work up in person. Unfortunately, when Bea completed the work she needed to ship it to me since she lives in Florida and I live in Texas. In order for her to get the piece to me before my anniversary it needed to be sent 2 day air which added about $50 to the price we had agreed upon. Again, this is NOT Bea's fault. This is the fault of the platform and my fault for not asking up front how I would obtain the finished work. I am only pointing this out so future first time users of the Thumbtack platform know to ask their artist how they will be able to obtain the finished product so shipping can be part of the initial negotiation of the price.

There aren’t enough words to describe how beautiful and sentimental the vision that my mom had, of which Bea Calligraphy was able to bring to life. My mom had been gifted a poem from my Nana on her wedding day called “Daughter, Daughter”, and for the past year she’s been looking for the physical copy of it to have it recreated to give to my sister on her wedding day. She wasn’t able to find it due to moving, because there are boxes on boxes in storage. But we did have the pictures of her and her mom holding hers on my moms wedding day. So we had that to go off of, and then we scoured the internet to find the poem. About a week goes by and someone reached out to my mom with the poem! The next step was finding someone who could do calligraphy and bring the poem to life based off of a small picture of it. I found Bea Calligraphy and showed my mom her work, and she agreed that she was the best of the best. Bea Calligraphy was so communicative, and she was able to bring our vision to life, and actually change a few things about our vision, showing us how different colors would work better etc. She was amazing, and she worked with us on a shorter timeframe than I anticipated when I had reached out months ago. I can’t express enough how precious and sentimental this poem is to my mom, and now my sister. Bea basically replicated what my Nana had given my mom, but used her own creativity to fill in the blanks of only having a small photo copy of the original. I told my mom that I’d be saving her information to have her do it for my wedding as well. It’ll be long down the road, but I can’t imagine anyone else creating / bringing something so priceless and sentimental to life the way she did. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thank you Bea Calligraphy for creating something that my family will cherish for lifetimes to come. Here are some photos of the artwork that Bea had sent me, the original of my mom and Nana, and the night my mom gave it to my sister before her wedding. We don’t have the photos back from the photographer, but they did recreate the photo that my mom and Nana took too on the day of my sisters wedding. Thank you again, for everything that you have done! ❤️
