Animal welfare is more than just my profession, it’s also ingrained in my daily life. While I do have set rates, I customize each service based on the specific needs of each animal in my care. We are incredibly happy with Ruth caring for our four dogs. We have three Rhodesian Ridgebacks and an old pittie mix, so there’s a lot going on in our house. To complicate matters, one of our ridgebacks has a disease called megaesophagus which requires a very specific feeding & rest protocol. Ruth has exceeded all expectations. She takes perfect care of them. She follows his protocol, and even catches when I make a mistake in his food or medication! Ruth is very intuitive and navigates the pecking order, moods or issues. She gives them an enormous amount of attention, and always send pictures which gives me a great deal of peace. Plus she takes great care of my home while caring for the dogs! I would strongly recommend Ruth to care for anyone’s pets.

Ruth is a highly knowledgeable and responsible pet sitter. She watched my large family of cats while we were out of town. Our cats are usually easy but at this time we had a litter of kittens that were weaning onto kitty food & litter box training. As well as the extra work with them she also had to keep our two older cats separated. While gone I received lots of communication and pictures of our kitties. With her experience in shelter work and raising litters of cats herself her advice was much appreciated in the weaning process.

I have an elder dog that requires medications, which she doesn’t like to take. I also have 2 ‘normal’ dogs. Ruth has been watching them when I travel for a couple of years now. She taught me a trick on how to get Abbie (elder dog) to take her meds without a fuss. I feel totally at ease traveling knowing Ruth is with my dogs.

I have always had an affinity for animals. While I was in high school, I volunteered regularly at a shelter. I eventually graduated to working in a general practice & several animal sanctuaries. I last worked with critically ill pets in the ER.
