Rising Calm Center is a Christian practice of mental health professionals and coaches dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families find calm and confidence in the midst of life’s challenges. We specialize in evidence-based approaches that reset the nervous system and restore emotional balance, supporting clients who are facing anxiety, stress, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and relationship struggles.
Our work is rooted both in professional training and lived experience. Eric Gilbert, our director, developed the Rising Calm process after overcoming his own struggles with anxiety and later pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, along with advanced certifications. He and our team draw on this foundation to guide clients toward lasting change through faith-based, practical strategies that can be applied in real-world situations.
We believe care should be both accessible and timely. That’s why we offer same-week, affordable sessions—either in-person or virtual—so clients don’t have to wait to begin healing. Our sliding fee scale makes counseling available to people of all income levels and works with any type of insurance.
At Rising Calm, our mission is to provide Christ-centered therapeutic care when you need it most. Together, we’ll identify the root of struggles, uncover hidden patterns, and begin a path toward real, lasting healing.

I have been working with Eric, from Rising Calm Therapy for over a year now, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From our very first session, I felt heard, understood and supported in a way that was both professional and compassionate.Eric has been incredibly helpful in guiding me to manage my anxiety during the most stressful time of my life. Over the course of our work together, Ive learned many practical techniques for stress-management which have proved to be tremendously valuable. In addition to the work weve done around anxiety, he has helped me make remarkable progress in organizing my thoughts. Eric has taught me tools to break down overwhelming situations and regain clarity. This has allowed me to focus more effectively and feel less mentally scattered. One of the most powerful aspects of our work together is that Eric has helped me reconnect with my faith and rediscover who I am in Christ. Ive been able to see myself through Gods eyes once again, which has been incredibly healing. The process has allowed me to rebuild self-worth and embrace the truth of my identity in Christ.I feel that Eric has gone above and beyond in supporting me. His professionalism, empathy, and spiritual guidance, have made all the difference in my journey. I am incredibly grateful for his help.

I was seeking Life coaching and was so happy to come across Rising Calm. I was a little hesitant at first because Im a spiritual person but not religious. Eric was very respectful of that and really helped me work through some fears, anxiety and had some amazing visualization exercises. What I achieved in 2 months has been incredible! Highly recommend Eric and his team.

Brief Description of Myself:I am a 40-year-old Black man with a strong relationship with Christ. I was married for eight years (separated for three) and have a very healthy co-parenting relationship with my wife and the mother of my oldest kids. As a father of three, I lead a busy but productive life. Every dog has his day, and I hit a dry season in my marriagelosing my identity both in myself and within the relationship. Before meeting with Eric, all of this still held true.I spent three years in marriagecounseling before deciding to seek personal therapy. Initially, I avoided therapists of other ethnicities, believing they couldnt relate to me or my upbringing. However, working with Eric quickly proved me wrong. Ethnicity doesnt matter when your therapist is a Man of God, a good listener, patient, understanding, and prays before and after each session to ensure his counsel is Spirit-led rather than heart-led.I sought Erics guidance to help me navigate the difficult decision of divorceto free myself from the guilt of failing at marriage, the guilt of giving up, and the guilt of deeply hurting my wife. But after listening to my reasons for seeking therapy, Eric asked a different question: What was my relationship with Christ like? Had I kept Him at the forefront of my marriagethen or now? My honest answer was no. At the time, I was drained and, if Im being real, I didnt want to hear from God about that topic. Now, as I prepare for my sixth session with Eric, I can confidently say things are going well. He has been strategic in helping me unpack my brokenness, childhood trauma, anxiety, and the fear of opening myself up to lovewithout barriers but with reasonable boundaries.I hope my experience encourages someone to give Eric a chance. He has great energy, comes to every session prepared, takes detailed notes, and uses past sessions to highlight progress and behavioral patterns. Each session ends with me feeling hopeful, heard, understood, and equipped with personalized assignments.Blessings to you and your family, E!

Isabel Bustamante provided exceptional support during a challenging breakup. From the moment I reached out to her, she made sure I felt heard and understood, offering a safe space to express my emotions. As a bilingual therapist, she helped me navigate the emotional rollercoaster by communicating in both English and Spanish, which made a huge difference in how comfortable I felt sharing my thoughts.Isabel worked with me to create a personalized therapy plan that addressed my emotional healing.

Eric does a phenomenal job with counseling for our marriage. He has seen us at different stages in our marriage and it wasnt always pretty, but he is very patient and encouraging and always professional! He stays flexible and does his best to work around our busy schedule. One thing that stands out for us is ending our sessions in prayer which is very important. Couldnt ask for a better counselor!
Rising Calm Center's reply

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We work with any type of insurance using our sliding-fee scale. This significantly reduces session to about half the cost (often similar in price to a copay). This gives us the freedom to focus on whole-person and faith-based care rather than insurance restrictions.
Many of our clients successfully use out-of-network benefits, HSA, FSA and we’re happy to provide a superbill for reimbursement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our team combines both professional training and personal experience to support clients with care and expertise. Eric Gilbert, our founder, has a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and certifications in proven treatment methods. Other team members bring backgrounds in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis, hypnotherapy, breathwork, trauma-informed care, and Christian mentorship. Together, we use this blend of knowledge and training to help individuals, couples, and families find calm, confidence, and healing.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Eric Gilbert, the director of Rising Calm, struggled with anxiety as a child. Through counseling, he and his family discovered effective ways to calm anxiety, which helped him grow in confidence, improve academically, and manage challenges more effectively.
Over time, Eric developed what he calls the Rising Calm process—an approach that helped him rise above anxiety and transform stressful moments into opportunities for growth. Building on this personal experience, along with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and specialized treatment certifications, Eric has guided many children and adults toward greater calm and confidence.
