Introduction: I put my heart and soul into each and every piece of writing I hold in my hands. Whether it would be 100 words or 10,000 words, the same amount of dedication goes into it. I don't give one thing more heart just because it might be "worth more." Worth is measured by the amount of heart a writer puts into it. I love writing and I love editing. I always have. I began in 6th grade and went to the University of Florida for it, where I graduated from the College of Journalism and Communications. It's my passion and it always will be. I get to do a job where I absolutely love what I do. There's nothing quite as great!

I've had the pleasure of working with Brock at two different publications. When I was the entertainment editor at the Independent Florida Alligator, he frequently contributed news and feature stories on topics ranging from music to technology. His pieces were always turned in before deadline without fail. He was one of the most reliable, talented writers on my team. Luckily, our paths crossed again at Orange and Blue Magazine. There, I found out how incredibly determined and passionate he is as a writer. Despite multiple dead ends, Brock chased a story about a 9-year-old violinist who played on a street corner downtown. Although difficult to obtain, Brock's 3-page feature turned out to be one of the highlights of our issue. I definitely recommend working with him.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was born into it. I began writing when I was extremely young and it never left me. I've spent my life writing short stories, prose, poetry and journalistic writing. I've never taken a step back and questioned my path. I knew from the start this is what I wanted to do.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
You should always ask yourself if the editor you're choosing is going to change who YOU are in YOUR writing or if they are going to edit your book, article or story. I won't change your voice while editing, I will just make sure it reads smoothly, like a true editor should.
