Megan is exceptional. She has been essentially co-parenting my Puppy since I got him 4 months ago. She has house trained him and has helped educate an exceptionally vibrant Jack Russell Terrier. She is always extremely accommodating both in her training approach as well as in boarding him when I travel, many times on short notice. I would highly recommend Megan and I'm sure my dog Melo would as well based on his enthusiasm every time he sees Megan.Jul 25, 2018Verified
Megan is an amazing person I don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for her training sessions. My dog was out of control and always running straight out the door. After one session, Ellie (my dog) was behaving better and listened more. Completely worth it! Couldn’t have picked a better trainer!Dec 13, 2018Verified
Megan was extremely helpful with my crazy puppy. I have a 7 month old Shiba Inu, they are known to be a very stubborn breed. She taught him sit and lay down at the very first visit! This girl has a gift with dogs, I definitely recommend her as your future puppy/dog trainer.Mar 29, 2018Verified
I don’t usually write reviews as I believe that opinions are always different and one should experience a service before formulating an opinion. However, I feel that I should share with you guys my experience with Expedition Paw Training, and in particular with Megan Sierra. I had initially learned about their services through thumbtack, where I gotten into contact with Megan and she began training my husky. Everything was great as I was glad with her service. I even contacted her later for another service where she took care of my dog while I went on vacation. She originally charged $25 per day. However, recently I contacted her again for her services as we are going on vacation and I needed her to take care of my dog. Not only had the complete tonality of her text messages changed, but so did the price of the service. Out of nowhere, the prices were raised from $25 to $45 per day for on-boarding. However since I was so desperate I decided that I would do it because I had no other option at the moment. When I contacted her again about a week ago, I asked her questions as I had forgotten what she had told me in the previous messages because I had gotten a new phone. Not only did I sense attitude, but there was just a complete difference in treatment. I had trusted her and thought she was amazing and all of a sudden her responses were short and had a certain amount of sass. To cut to the point, one of my family members was not going to be going on vacation and therefore was going to be saving $380. I contacted her and told her my situation and asked her for a refund and she completely refused. She is right that in her emails she has put that she has a strict no refund policy and that I had signed an online contract when I first started services with her. However, I thought that as a client that has always paid on time and has used her services more than once, she would be more considerate. I completely acknowledge that I signed a contract, but her lack of communication and clarity is a demonstration of her lack of trustworthiness and inability to build a positive relationship with her clients. I didn’t even have to pay until the day we left, but I decided to pay her three weeks before the day. I still let her know with time the cancellation, and she refused to pay me back my full money, keeping $285 and did not provide me with any service. Had I decided to cancel the day off and still hadn’t paid her, she would have still been left no business. However, she decided she would take advantage of the fact that I paid two weeks prior and stay with the money. I wanted to let you guys know because I was literally left flabbergasted by how this whole exchange turned out and I would not want you guys to go through the same thing. Although I learned that you should definitely read your contract, I also believe that a business owner or employee should treat their clients with some form of consideration and provide a copy of a contract that was signed over a year ago. She had not even provided a contract when she decided to change her prices. I hope this helps you guys with your decision.Dec 10, 2018VerifiedExpedition Paws Dog Training's reply
I began working with this client in April of 2018, less than a year ago. The service she is referring to are my private boarding services, which are only offered to my training clients. My boarding prices, which are subject to change without notice, did increase and when Alejandra contacted me for boarding, I notified her of my price increase. I did not hear back from for two weeks until she texted me and decided she still wanted to move forward with boarding, at which point I booked her services and a confirmation email was sent to her. This email stated my no-refund policy. Because of my no-refund policy, I do not require boarding services to be paid until the day before drop-off in case plans change. By paying early, you solidify your plans to board with me. This client communicates with me via text, and while I strive to maintain a professional tone over text, the tone of texts can easily be misinterpreted. When this client notified me of her change of plans, I again informed her of my no-refund policy. I offered her three separate options: her dog may still stay with us, she could have a partial refund, or she could have a credit for the the amount of the stay to use towards any future boarding or training services. She chose the partial refund and I promptly refunded the amount of the refund. I work very hard to have open communication with all my clients and all of my policies are clearly stated on my website, my service contract, and in appointment emails. I never want clients to feel like they've wasted money, which is why I provide other options should plans change.
Our experience with Expedition Paws has been very positive. Megan is efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and great with our dogs. We get report cards on our pups experience and training for the day and homework for us to work together as a family to make things better for our pups quality of life and our peace of mind. Megan is very creative in her training sessions and the adventure training days seem to be a real joy for our girl who needs to expend her energy in a positive way. She is getting training, socialization, positive reinforcement and lots of fun all balled up in one. Highly recommended. :)May 22, 2019
