I have used EJ for small and large jobs around the house. He is very good- efficient, clean, on time, and trustworthy! He's been working on patching, plumbing. Installations and floor projects around the house among other things. Im sure he could handle just about anything. I'm wrapping up a renovation and he is tying up the loose ends- although if I had him the whole time it would have been a much better renovation! Outside of his quality work, EJ seems to be an overall good person. I have animals and a small child who all follow him around when he's working and EJ couldn't be nicer to them. I trust him with my home if I am or am not there. His prices are incredibly reasonable and he will work with you every step of the project to help you keep costs down. He's the first contractor/handyman I've had that I feel has the homeowners best interest at heart.
Needed some repair work done on my rental house. JR was very knowledgeable and able to handle a variety of tasks, including electrical, plumbing and carpentry. He displayed excellent customer service, was fast, efficient and provided reasonable pricing. Will hire again.
Where do I start? My husband and I tried to demo 1754 square of tile in our new house to save us money. By doing that, we put a lot of holes in the floor, causing us to have to level it. We knew at that point that we needed to bring in a professional and got nearly 10 people to quote us. It was one of the most stressful experiences because each person came in and told us how bad it was and quoted us various amounts of a lot more money than we had planned for. Ehren came in and he was just a cool, relaxed guy, which doesn't seem like a big deal, but it is. He wasn't the cheapest quote, but he worked with us and our budget. In the end he was the best price for the outstanding quality of work we received. We are so glad we picked Ehren. He and Paul did a fantastic job. First, they leveled the floor, then they laid wood look tile throughout the house. I have really high standards, and they even exceeded my expectations! As a way to save money, Ehren also taught my husband how to level and tile, which was great. Ehren and Paul not only did a great job, but they're great guys to have around. They are positive, upbeat and care about their customers. Dealing with our first home and first renovation, we've figured out that that's not too easy to come by. They even installed our toilets as a housewarming gift! Ryan and I plan to hire them for everything we need in the future. They'll be getting a call from us soon to do our backsplash. Thanks so much Ehren and Paul!
TB was quick to reply to request and work out schedule. Great communications and follow up, this is highly unusual but very important. I had some plumbing ( garbage disposal for sink, faucet install) and some electrical work. Taurus was punctual and professional and provided a very unique approach to managing a repair that saved me allot of money. We had to call back due to something we noticed after they left (minor) and they came back early next day to take care of issue. The fact that we had to have them come back would normally have me write a negative review but the fact that it was minor and more importantly the way in which they managed this was amazingly well handled. We will look to have them back for more when needed and are looking to have them qoute on interior and exterior painting. Having people come into your house is always concering and sometimes causes me not to call people but I will tell you that I had and have great comfort in having Taurus in our home and would not hesitate to have again.
We wanted Mike to build some custom beams for our ceiling in our home. He quickly contacted my husband to discuss what we wanted, and he came out quickly to give us a quote. We immediately loved Mike because he immediately made it clear that he would take care of our project like it was his own. The beams turned out amazing, and Mike got them done quickly! He was on time, very professional, really nice to my one year old (total plus), and an honest, genuine guy with integrity. Since this project, we have also had Mike out to help with various projects such as installing doors, installing hardware on cabinets, and changing out doors. I can't wait for him to do some more fun, custom stuff down the road!
I usually don’t write reviews, and have taken a while to complete this one, but I had such a great experience with FencedUp that I had to share it. If you are reading this, you are likely trying to go through the difficult process of finding a fence contractor. It is a tough process and I have been there. Hurricane Matthew blew down much the wood privacy fence at our home in Jax Beach and a downed tree took care of more of it; we needed a full replacement. The good news for us, and for you, is that Fenced Up is there to help. I vetted a few different fence companies when replacing our fence. David and crew at Fenced up was one of the most responsive fence companies I encountered in the process and also offered the best price for a quality fence (do your homework, not all fences are built the same). I had several questions and was able to get them all answered to my satisfaction during the bid process. Incredibly, things got better from there; when does that ever happen?! We wanted a complex wood privacy fence that included some design elements we came up with and David provided a tiered estimate with steps from basic to an all-out custom solution that included our requests and even improved them. This approach was helpful in comparing prices and making an informed decision, and I can tell you his pricing was also highly competitive on the simpler alternatives so he would have been a good choice for that as well. We settled on a custom-built horizontal wood fence and David offered a unique approach that used true one-inch thick lumber on five-foot centers that was all secured with three-inch ceramic coated screws (its strong and looks great). The result was an 8ft tall privacy fence that survived Hurricane Irma with ZERO WIND DAMAGE! A tree limb did fall and break a few of the decorative top slats on the top two feet of one section, but it was stopped cold by the stout horizontal primary fencing so our overall fence integrity was uncompromised after hours of high wind that took down several large trees nearby and would have wrecked our old fence. While many fence companies will only have installers on site, through FencedUp we benefitted from an incredibly talented and devoted trim carpenter, Steve, who executed some incredible details on our fence and designed everything to be pool and zoning compliant (each with its own requirements). Steve even customized a discreet removable panel to access our pool filter more easily. My father in-law is a retired general contractor that knows good carpentry. Steve’s craftsmanship impressed him, so much so that he plans to use FencedUp when he replaces his own fence. We also had a twelve-foot drive gate built with heavy twin six foot wide doors and no support wheels. Now, months later, the gate still functions flawlessly and swings open with one hand (that is no easy design feat). It was a big fence job with several customizations added along the way, so we had a lot of interaction with David and his crew and it was a very positive experience for us. I can tell you that on the last day it felt like saying goodbye to friends when they wrapped up the job! I know this review will sound too good to be true, but it was our actual experience. To be clear, I am not being paid for the review and was not promised a discount or other inducement to write it or post it. This is not to say there were no hiccups or challenges in the process, there always are! What was important though is that David was quick to own and correct any mistakes and he and Steve provided effective and well thought out solutions to the inevitable challenges that came up in the process and all this resulted in a great finished product. We ended up with a great custom fence that most contractors would not have even attempted to execute and all that at a great price! Not only would I use FencedUp for a future project, I cannot imagine using anyone else. P.S.- David also followed-up on the job twice to be sure everything was good and offered to make any corrections/adjustments that may be needed. Five stars! Thanks FencedUp!
We had to close off our backyard wood fence for our dogs and privacy. We found terry on thumbtack and had him come out. Instantly we knew he was a character. Great guy and gave a reasonable, affordable quote. It took two days because of weather conditions. Terry is an all around hard worker.
We hired Bull to install an interior bedroom door slab. Bull arrived at the scheduled time, and unfortunately due to my problem, we had to reschedule the work. Bull was very understanding and return one week later, to complete the custom door install. Bull developed a plan for the door install due to a odd sized door frame. Bull communicated the manner he planned to approach the install and completed the install to my satisfaction, within the agreed to time frame. Once completed, Bull thoroughly cleaned the area plus some. We were pleased with his work as well as the fee. Would recommend him for this project.
Joe did an excellent job installing our 24 new custom Andersen E Series windows. He is very talented and was able to make framing modifications on the fly to make out project go perfectly. He was great to work with from the initial meeting to the finished install. Quality work is his specialty! Highly recommend him!
I had a slow leak under the sink that ruined my laminate floor in the kitchen and family room. Mark is very knowledgeable about wood floors and was very helpful in my search for the right floor which he installed. His work and professionalism ranks well beyond a "10!" The floors and trim are beautifully done - a definite "wow!" I recommend him highly for any job. Pat
I hired Joey to tile my laundry room in slate. I was in a hurry to get the job done as I was living in a space without use of my laundry room. Joey accomodated me in evenings and weekends for an amazing price. He did a beautiful job of cutting and installing the slate, and was very efficient and professional. He also did some painting and a few other little things for me that came up in the course of the job I originally hired him for. He also gave me a fair price on these and finished in a timely manner. His knowledge and skills seem to cross over into every area of home remodel, design, and construction. I plan to use Joey's services for a lot more work in the future. Highly recommended as an all-around handyman, remodeller, builder.
Jason has helped me with numerous things around my house! He finished everything in a timely manner and was very professional! From replacing a toilet to drywall to my privacy fence. Whatever you need done Jason can do it!
I used AMVETPRO for a wind mitigation inspection of a residential property prior to closing so that I could obtain an insurance deduction. I'm very detail oriented and have a fair amount of experience in the home buying and renovation process, and I was very impressed with the attention to detail, the inspector's knowledge of all applicable regulations/code, the thorough nature of the inspection process, and accuracy/completeness of the report. Not only did it result in a significant discount on my homeowner's insurance, the inspector also pointed out several items that were overlooked during my recent home inspection and provided advice on how to approach the issues. Unlike a lot of other inspectors who seem to be interested in "finding" possible issues so they can then get you to hire their company to make repairs, AMVETPRO didn't have any ulterior motive and did not use the inspection process as a method to pressure me into paying for additional unnecessary jobs, a practice that is fairly common in the home maintenance industry. AMVETPRO's rates are very competitive, their fees are posted on the website, and I just noticed that I paid over twice that amount for my home inspection with one of their local competitors. Not only was the inspector (Chris Thomassy) very knowledgeable and professional, it was readily apparent to me that his previous experience as a military veteran (a former Navy pilot) carried over into his enthusiasm for the job, great customer service, exacting standards and integrity in ensuring that the job was completed to the highest level of standards. I wish I would have used AMVETPRO for my home inspection, and plan to consult with Chris if and when I'm ready to start planning any major home renovation jobs and improve the energy efficiency of this house. Bottom line, it's great to support a veteran, and get superior service for lower price at the same time!
Mark Smith/House to Home Solutions is very skilled and can do everything when it comes to Remodeling. He is also dependable, honest and fair. The company does outstanding work and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
A+++++!!! Love the fact that he was able to come in and take the bees out of my home and also repair the damage that was done. He shown me where he has built bee hives for people to place in their back yard too. I like that idea but can't do that currently being I'm renting. Once I get my own place those will be very busy I already have plans to have him build me a deck and chairs if my future house don't have one. Also some solid wood cabinets sound great too. I like that he also can built custom shadow boxes for anything including military ones as well! Outstanding job! Can't wait to have him do more work for me!
A great family run business new to Jacksonville, they helped me get a rental home ready with painting, custom carpentry, and other "fix it" solutions. They are a complete home renovation package!
Shannon responded quickly and he was able to accommodate my schedule. He was thorough in his investigation of the issue with my dining room table and he even left to retrieve additional tools so that he could guarantee an excellent product. He was meticulous with his work and with his cleaning up afterward. We ended up renegotiating the price to fairly compensate him for his efforts. I was very pleased with his work and I may use him again for a custom piece of furniture.
