Got a $ 600 quote for a vacant lot appraisal on a bank-owned REO, which is very high. After going to the Skelton website I was very impressed with the qualifications so I talked to Mr. Skelton on the phone next. I described detail the history of the site AND send Mr. Skelton a 6 page .pdf document with all the research on the site publicly available AND clicked the $ 600 "hire" button on this site, assuming the job was scheduled the following Wednesday as per our discussion. That week went by and then Wednesday the following week I received a call from someone at Skelton appraisals asking me for any information on the property saying "all they were given was my name and phone number" - some service for a premium price. To boot, that same employee actually said "I'm not surprised" to which I replied "WHY ARE YOU STILL WORKING THERE THEN???" To make this whole thing worse, this is an REO *with a short fuse closing time* that this guy wasted more than a week of my time on. This guy should not even be on this site.
