    Exterior Home Remodel
I can not rave enough about Reel Construction, they are second to none. We are new residents of Seminole, FL and bought a home that ended up needing some MAJOR repairs and renovations (including structural). Not knowing anyone locally for the job, we had to depend on our gut to choose our General Contractor. We reached out to countless contractors, called numbers off of vehicles driving down the road and trolled the internet for more hours than we wished. Our scope included: -Demo the entire exterior of the house down to structural wood and replace 30 year old cedar planks with Hardie lap siding and nasty tar paper wrap with Tyvek. -Eliminate 2 windows entirely, convert 2 windows to doors (one sliding and one french), replace 11 other 30 year old windows with up to date, code compliant Anderson windows, convert 1 sliding glass door to a window and cut off a dilapidated, rotted 12ft x 8ft balcony on a third floor. -New roof. Which he was honest in telling me that I was better off contacting a roofer independently and gave me 3 roofers to contact. We ended up Going with Acoma Roofing...also a total home run, great experience, phenomenal outfit! So, after reaching out to dozens of people, it came down to 4 GC's... 1- Guy A, came by to look at the scope and after calling him for a week asking for a proposal, he finally answered the phone and said he did not have time for our job. 2- Guy B, was 3 hours late to a set appointment, "could not find our house", claimed he is a one man show with no overhead which is why his (incomplete) estimate that did not cover my entire scope of work and was suspiciously low...This dude was 80 years old and didn't really "listen" to me during his visit anyways. 3- Guy C, I had to beg him for a face to face meeting to go over the scope of our job for 3 weeks! He finally sent his "new foreman" and he showed up to our house late and with his wife and kids in tow...Then I had to beg him for 3 more weeks for a proposal which I still have not gotten as I write this review. And those are the ones that I got in touch with!!! This doesn't include the countless emails sent and voicemails left with responses that range from no call back or clearly incompetent outfits, to having a yelling match over the phone because "I didn't know what I was talking about and if we are going to start out by you telling me how I'm going to run my job, then go call someone else..." It is exhausting to even narrow it down to 3 equal, or even similar options to choose from. Also, if you are reading this and are wondering who these other outfits are, feel free to call me for more details, my name is Happy 904-716-1616 So on to the good stuff, from day one, Jory was punctual, attentive, accommodating and answered the phone (or called me back by COB) every time I needed him. He is friendly, clean cut and very professional. He is well educated, courteous around my wife and kids and well mannered. Basically the dude has it together and is not a disheveled mess. He made us feel comfortable from the moment we met. He caries himself with the confidence that no job is to big but remains humble enough that you would hire him for a simple bathroom remodel or an inexpensive deck addition...I can confidently say that he has the knowledge and skill to tackle any job. He took care of every detail from pulling permits to assisting with my material order from Home Depot. He negotiated with the scaffolding company on my behalf and took a bill that potentially was $10k to half of that. He coordinated every city and county inspection and did EVERYTHING on the up and up. I do not have a shadow of a doubt that he is the most honest General Contractor that I have met or will ever meet, and that extends to his crews BTW... On several occasions his crews worked at our house with full access to the inside (we had no option) while we were out of town or away for the entire day. Most of the time he was not there the whole day, leaving Crispin, his main foreman in charge. At no point were any valuables in our house (or garage) even looked at, there was plenty of opportunity for stuff to go missing and it never happened, it's not even a thought to these guys. With a lot of hesitation, I gave him the keys to my house, but our stuff remained as safe as if I was there watching blows my mind that people this honest still exist. Everybody from Jory himself, Crispin, Pablo, Vicente, Thomas, Ken and down to the newest helper were there just trying to make an honest living. They represent what is great about America! The quality of his work: I am in the elevator business, I came from oil and power, I know my way around tools...on a few occasions I tried to cut some corners (not compromising the end product or look, but mainly to save money) and he put his foot down and did things right. On one occasion even saying that his name was on the line and he would work with me on the cost of doing it right if he needed to but refused to cut a corner, even when I was asking him to! In any event, we ran into a lot of water and termite damage to the house that was out of scope and he could have nickle and dimmed me to death but instead chose to keep my final bill reasonable (he is not the cheapest guy out there but he is the best by a long shot, and you truly get what you pay for). Now check this out, and I still have a hard time believing this myself, but, he started my job the day we agreed, he finished my job 15 days ahead of schedule and the final bill was within 2% of his original budget... Everything you have read so far is why I am taking the time (that I don't really have) out of my busy day to write such a detailed review. He deserves to be raved about and no, he did not bride me to write this! As you can read, Jory Romano and his crews far exceeded our expectations. I will never go to another outfit for my future remodeling or constructions needs nor will I ever stop raving about how impressed I am with Reel Construction!

It was a pleasure to work with Jory on my project. We discussed ideas, options and cost. He and his team worked with me through obstacles as the work was being done. He communicated with me and kept me informed. I will definitely hire Jory and Reel Construction Resources for future work on my house.

I thought that I had provided this feedback early, but it doesn't look like I did: In a word, Jory was "exceptional". I enlisted his help on a very short notice project to replace flooring in two rooms of a rental property that is across the State from where I live. Jory "owned" the project from soup to nuts and did a great job meeting the very tight deadlines. Jory met every commitment that he made. He showed up on time, made the proper recommendations relative to best practices, performed high quality work, and his crew cleaned up after themselves. Jory is the only contractor I will be doing business with in the Tampa/St Petersburg area.

As a first time home buyer we had big plans to change and update everything befor we moved. With only a month to do everything it quickly became more than we could handle. Jory Romano, owner of Reel Construction, was such a huge help. He connected us with many different companies to get all of our projects done while helping us organize and oversee everything as well. Not only did he do many of the projects himself, his team always kept our house clean which was very important to us because our 3 year old is very curious. Trying to stay in our budget was our biggest concern but Jory got everything done on time and within budget, even with all the changes we gave him. I contacted him on a monday, by wednesday his team had started, and a month later i was having my house warming party. Its rare to find a contractor that can do the work righ, but to go above and beyond by really showing us how doing things in the right order and with the right people can make the process fun and stress free. Just taking the time to help us brainstorm and bounce ideas around, everybody on his team proved to be very helpful.Jory Romano with Reel Construction will definitely be the call i make for any project i need done. Thank you Jory, everyone loved the house.

Jory and his crew remodeled two bathrooms in my home. The work is outstanding and they did a beautiful job. Jory assisted me in the planning and final choices of tile and fixtures. They worked around my schedule, my dogs and kept everything very clean during the remodeling process. Everyone who sees my new bathrooms are very impressed with the quality of work. I would highly recommend the to friends.
