About
I’m Matteus Cobo, a Miami-based guitar coach specializing in personalized, high-level music education. With formal training from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and teaching experience dating back to age 16, I’ve built my approach around a simple philosophy: learning guitar is just the beginning.
My coaching goes far beyond traditional guitar lessons. I help students develop the technique, musical understanding, creativity, and confidence needed to become well-rounded musicians. From music theory and ear training to improvisation, songwriting, and advanced playing techniques, every session is tailored to your goals, interests, and musical development.
Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to take your playing to a professional level, you’ll receive structured, one-on-one coaching designed for meaningful, long-term progress.
Private Guitar Coaching: $120 per 60-minute session.
This is more than learning songs. It’s about becoming the musician you’ve always wanted to be.
Customers rated this pro highly for professionalism, work quality, and punctuality.

Matteus is an absolute professional! I’m learning guitar from scratch and he has been extremely patient with me. Easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. You can tell he is passionate about guitar and enjoys teaching. Would 100% recommend him to anyone at any level of learning.

We’ve been blessed to have Matteus Corbo as my daughter’s guitar instructor for over eight years, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. He has been an incredible teacher, guiding my daughter with patience, dedication, and true passion for music.
He comes to our home twice a week for two-hour lessons, and because of his consistency and amazing talent, my daughter has grown into a remarkable guitar player. Beyond his teaching skills, he has become like part of our family — someone we deeply respect and appreciate.
His commitment and love for what he does shine through every lesson. We are forever grateful for the positive impact he has had on my daughter’s life and musical journey. If you are looking for a talented, reliable, and genuinely caring guitar instructor, look no further — he is the absolute best! 🎸✨

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $120 per hour.
Lessons are highly personalized and designed to get real results as efficiently as possible. You’re not just paying for time, you’re investing in a structured path, clear direction, and focused guidance that accelerates your progress.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I start working with a new student, I kick things off with a relaxed first session where we just chat about their interests and goals. I'll ask what kind of music they love, what they hope to achieve on guitar, and what experience they have, if any. After that, I usually put together a customized lesson plan that matches their style and pace. Each lesson is a mix of technique, songs they enjoy, and a bit of music theory sprinkled in. Overall, it's a pretty laid-back but structured approach that evolves as the student grows.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music and guitar performance at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, which gave me a solid academic and practical foundation in both classical and contemporary styles. Beyond that, I've been teaching since I was 16, so I have plenty of hands-on experience helping students of all ages and skill levels. All of that training and real-world teaching experience means I can offer a pretty well-rounded and personalized approach to every lesson.
