Maria came to our house to do a pre-move in clean. We asked her to clean the floors first and then clean the rest of the house. She was at the house for about eight hours and spent almost the entire day supposedly removing the new construction dust from the cabinets. It literally took her several hours to just do that in the kitchen (i.e., she didn't even clean the sinks or countertops). When she said she was done, we went back and pointed out all the dust in all of the cabinets except the ones that we had cleaned ourselves. She acted like she didn't know how it got there. (We ended up cleaning all the cabinets after she left.) Right before she left I asked if she cleaned the kitchen floors, as I didn't recall seeing her do that and they still looked dirty. She said I never told her to clean the kitchen floors - even though we asked her to clean all of the floors first! Of course, she charged us for the time that we spent pointing out all the things she said she cleaned but clearly had not.
Worse still, even though she knew we had just renovated and were happily moving in, she also was pointing out what she deemed faults in the house, like that she thought the bedrooms were too small and she didn't like the way the kitchen faced.
When we told Joe that we were not happy with her work, Joe said that he had done us a favor by sending her and was not even willing to hear our complaints. The favor would have been telling us that no one was available so that we could find someone who actually cleans.
On a positive note, we do not think she stole any of our belongings.
