- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Finding out their needs and specialty. Setting up for remote dictation. Scheduling receipt of dictations and when they could expected completed medical transcription. I am looking for part time hours at this point.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was initially trained by a medical transcription service, followed by working in a neurologist's office. I have been an independent Medical Transcriptionist for over 30 years so I am familiar with many medical specialties. I have always been located in Miami, Florida but this can be done remotely once set up.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Having worked in businesses with various responsibilities in the past, I was looking for something different, in the medical field. A good friend suggested I get trained by a Medical Transcription service where she was working, which I did and am proud of my profession. I subsequently became a Certified Medical Transcriptionist through the Miami Chapter of the American Association of Medical Transcriptionists and was past president.
