Introduction: Yoga to Grow Miami provides beginner and advanced vigorous or restorative yoga classes in the studio or your home, workplace, event, etc. Group or private instruction is available. See her website for a complete description of classes and weekly blog postings about yoga. Katy is a student and teacher of yoga. In between yoga asanas, Katy is also a medical anthropologist, a doctoral candidate at the University of Alabama, and an instructor at Barry University. Her knowledge of healing systems and human biology influence her yoga practice and teaching. Born and raised in the Kentucky backwoods, but having traveled the world extensively, Katy brings a well-rounded, open-minded classroom atmosphere, but with a “down-home,” southern hospitality twist. “A great teacher is a lifelong student.” Her yoga practice has been shaped by many powerful teachers. Katy regularly attends workshops and classes to stay on top of innovations in the world of yoga and alternative health. Katy teaches open yoga classes (no appointment necessary) for beginners and advanced students, and is also available for private lessons (1-10+ people) in the studio, at your home, office, school, etc.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The greatest teachers are lifelong students. First, inquire about the yoga teacher's training: with whom and where did he/she train? It is better that he/she trained with a nationally recognized yoga guru than at a local fitness center. Finally, make sure that he/she is continuing education. One teacher training 20 years ago does not make for a well-informed instructor. The best teachers continue to develop their practice and their teaching skills by going to workshops and training sessions regularly.
