FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay up to date with National Wood Flooring Association resources and occasionally visit manufacturer training facilities to learn new products and techniques. However, the most valuable education I find is through networking with some of the best wood flooring professionals throughout the country.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up in the flooring business. My father started as an installer and eventually opened several stores throughout upstate New York. He later developed a national retail program for one of the biggest carpet and flooring manufacturers in the country. I've always enjoyed the craftsman's side of the business. After completing college and working in my dad's store for a while, I formed my own company as a hardwood floor specialist.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently did a custom installation of 2,220 sf unfinished African Sapele hardwood with multiple hand cut patterns and stone inlays. We sanded and finished the floors with an ebony stain and waterbased polyurethane to create a truly beautiful floor.
