This was my first time using Thumbtack and I was very impressed by one company specifically, TND Repairs. Unfortunately, I had several previous negative experiences with local Gainesville handymen who didn't return my calls, failed to show up for confirmed appointments, or who didn't send estimates as promised. Even two handyman who contacted me from Thumbtack wouldn't provide estimates for neither approximate time involved or nor approximate project cost as I requested for five relatively simple jobs on my punchlist. They wanted me to hire them without any agreement about anything! However, TND Repairs' owner contacted me promptly via phone and text message and provided a written detailed quote to me by line item within 24 hours for each job I had on my list including removing a nonworking built-in microwave oven and preparing damaged particle board to install new hinges in multiple kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Communication was expedient and easy by both text and phone; that was important because I changed the scope of work twice which required revised estimates. TND Repairs uses a software program to generate estimates and invoices which are emailed to clients which further greatly impressed me. The customer service I received was unrivaled based on expediency and professionalism of communication in addition to follow-through on promises made such as "I'll get the new quote to you in a few minutes." The owner of TND Repairs should be teaching a university course to students on customer service, delivering customer satisfaction, and small business management! Finally, the person who did my projects arrived promptly as scheduled to my condo, was polite and in a TND uniform, and did the tasks to exceed my expectations regarding appearance and timeliness of the work done.
