I needed a rather heavy console organ moved. The movers called with a time window of 1 1/2 hours, and showed up within an hour! Care was taken during during the move to insure neither the organ, nor the residences were damaged. Both the seller of the organ and myself (the buyer) were quite satisfied with the professionalism shown, and the reasonable rate charged.

We hired A1 Movers to move our larger furniture about a mile or so away, to our new home. Once the movers arrived, the move was completed quickly and in less time than originally estimated. Would hire them again -- if we need to hire someone to move our belongings.

Marc was very prompt in responding to my request for a quote. His quote was very reasonable and a single rate rather than hourly. He and his partner worked very hard & did not rush to get the job done. They were very careful with placement of large & fragile items. Overall, very affable, able, and available! I would recommend to anyone looking for honest, hard-working movers in the Gainesville and surrounding areas.

Very professional, quick and kind. Honestly much better than the professional movers I have used previously. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

They were here and waiting for the designated pickup time. Their handling of the furniture was outstanding and the use of moving equipment really impressed me. There was one item that I felt would enhance the experience, and that was the need for a uniform appearance of both men. Other than that, everything was outstanding.

I was in need of a mover with a very short notice. These guys scheduled me in the very next day. I required a pick up at two locations and it was no problem with no extra charge. Note that the first pick was minor. They were on time and prepared to work the hours needed for my 200+ mile move. I had some abnormally heavy items and they viewed it as it was all in a days work. The price was very competitive and they should be first on your list to call. Thanks guys for such relief in a very stressful time.

Christian Family movers packed my boxes(I packed myself)and my furniture in about 6 hours. They stored my items for about 4-5 days, as I waited to close on my new home. They were there on time both ways, worked hard to get the job done, and to keep things clean and proper while doing it.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
