I requested this company to do an AC inspection and on completion of the diagnostic I requested the company legal name, address and contractor number on an invoice to make a check for the fees. They give “RBI HVAC” for which I cannot find under Sunbiz, a contractor license not associated to the owner. I got no address for the business. My job was a warranty job and required a licensed professional. Due to the technician inability to submit a warranty claim he wanted me to pay full price for the parts. This guy claimed they are fully licensed.

We needed a new HVAC and were quoted $28,000 for a 5-ton unit. Looking for a second opinion, we found Lumi Contractor, a great family company run by two experienced brothers, Edgar and Joseph. Edgar partially fixed the a/c until we were back from vacation. He expertly gave us a few options for new units at less than half the price we were quoted originally by the other company. I contacted them last week, and today, they installed a brand new 5-ton unit, saving us $18,000. Installation went excellent and fast, Edgar and Joseph along with two crew members took away the old a/c and left everything clean and in order. I highly recommend Lumi Contractor, and from now on, I'll call them for maintenance and any a/c problems. They also speak Spanish, which is a great convenience for some customers.

Randy came out after hours which I appreciate and when I asked what his service call was he told me $65. He came and looked around only to find out ir could not be repaired that night due to a part needing ordered. I have a York system which he said was the best you could have. When he returned the next time, he stated that a lizard had fried the system. He also stated that it was not the thermostat issue. He came inside of the house after these particular issues and stated that York was the absolute worst brand to have my comment was why would you say it was the best and then the worst he went outside came back inside and said I’m not going to be able to fix it. I’ll give you credit for everything that I’ve paid for which 20 November I paid him $200 because he said of the distance it was to get to my home two days later he asked for an additional $300 he came back after receiving the part that he said that needed to be ordered when I went outside someone was on the phone with him. I’m assuming telling him how to fix the unit since he told me he didn’t know how and would give me my money back. He then needed to get into the attic to see what the issue was in the attic.. I also had a company that came out to do. Removal. Got into an argument with the wildlife removal because the wildlife removal guy said that he used to do HVAC work and that what needed to be done at my home he was overcharging me for. The next day Randy came out and eventually solve the problem and replaced my thermostat. He was only here very quickly the last day. I’m not sure what he did because I and everything happened on the exterior of the house. He called me in less than 30 minutes asking for the additional $800 he also stated he would be replacing the filter which he did not do. He became very defensive when I questioned him on the final price stating that he had to get in the attic and then breathe insulation when he decided he was going up there in the first place I simply told him if he did not want to go into the attic he should have just told me when I questioned him on the filter. He stated that he could get a bunch of them at wholesale price. Providing them and that he would get back to me on Monday a week has gone by actually close to two weeks. Informed me that he could get them at eight dollars apiece and how many did I want to purchase? I guess I assumed that he would be providing them which in fact he was not. I would not recommend or use him in the future based on professionalism. That he would credit the $65 back for the service call. I feel like I was overcharged significantly. Based on feedback from other contractors.
