Schellie Fanfan is an amazing woman who is truly a cut above the rest and an inspiration to many. It is not only her expertise in the mental health and behavioral services field that sets her apart, it is her passion and commitment to helping others grow through their "go-through" that makes her stand out as well. At the most difficult times of our lives, when we want to just give up, Schellie Fanfan brings hope, a renewed spirit, and a new direction. Her services are rendered effortlessly and even cross state lines to meet the needs of every population, regardless of age, race or gender. Going above and beyond is just a very minor detail of Schellie Fanfan's work ethics. Ms. Fanfan is extremely dedicated to fulfilling her purpose of transforming lives and does so with a heart of love and deep concern for the betterment of every client she comes in contact with. As my therapist, Ms. Fanfan counseled with no judgement, a keen ear and a goal to tear down walls that I thought were indestructable. This was a new experience for me and although we shared a mutual friend, it was clear that Ms. Fanfan was very knowledgeable of boundaries, which made it that much easier to communicate openly. Ms. Fanfan made herself available around the clock, whether there was a crisis, life transition, or even a general concern. I knew that I could always count on another voice being on the opposite end of the receiver even if just to say, "is everything ok?...I'll call you back as soon as I can". I learned a lot about myself through Schellie and to this very day, i find myself getting through a number of situations via the life tools instilled in me through Schellie whether by writing, recalling assigments, or reflecting on our coversations that would propel me to where I needed to be at that time. Without a doubt, Schellie Fanfan is an esteemed motivator and great mentor whose life is the epitome of PHENOMENAL. Schellie Fanfan is an AMAZING therapist. I have been to numerous therapist in my lifetime, but she is the one that has the ability to really get me to open up about my life. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I make a diligent effort to remain informed and educated on the latest developments in the field over and above the mandated continuing education courses I must take to maintain licensure in the state of Florida.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Becoming a therapist and establishing my own practice was never a choice. It was always the only alternative for me. Before I knew what counseling was as a young child, I had dreams of sitting in armed chairs talking and helping others. It is my purpose.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs I do for my clients is provide counseling, make diagnoses, complete mental heath assessments and connect with other individuals that can assist in the journey of wellness when necessary (personal trainer, nutritionist, YOGA instructor etc.).
