I would recommend Fernando to anyone looking for any type of tile repair and/or installation. He was very knowledgeable and fair with his pricing. For the work that he does, he is extremely reasonable. My job was a full bathroom remodel that involved travertine that had to be laid in mud. This is a difficult job to do because you have to make sure that there is no uneven parts during the installation. He did a great job with this. There was one mistake made in the pattern of the tile that I pointed out to them during the job. He immediately fixed the issue and corrected the problem. I only have two areas that I was a little unhappy, but they were minor. The first is that they didn't keep their work area very clean. They cut the tiles and mixed the cement on my covered patio in the back. I have slate down as the flooring for the patio. They ended up getting some mud on the tiles outside and I had to work to get it off. My suggestion to Fernando and his team is to be more aware of the area you are working in and make sure you don't make an excess mess in that area and always be careful when mixing mud or thinset in a finished area. The other area I wasn't happy with was the grouting. This is the last part of the job and one of the most important to give the job a great finished look. It was not Fernando that finiished the grout, it was one of his workers and he was very sloppy with the grout. There are areas on the bathroom where the grout is caked on and it doesn't look good. They should have taken more time to make sure the grout was thoroughly wiped to finish the job the right way. He also fixed a few issues in 2 other bathrooms and did a great job there. He did the work personally. The only thing I would warn others of is to make sure you supervise closely, especially if it is not Fernando himself doing the work, to make sure it gets done to your expectations. His worker is the one who made the mistakes. I did not ask him to correct the grout because it was a few days after the job that I noticed the areas where the grout was caked on and he was already finished with the job at that point. Also, make sure you get an estimate in writing. We had a little disagreement at the end of the job on price because I thought he had quoted a slightly different price. However, I was very happy with the work and he met me half way in the discrepancy, so I was happy with that. Overall, he did great work. The installation of the time was excellent. The detail work at the end was not up to par, but as long as you are aware and monitor the grouting process closely, I would recommend Fernando for any tile project you may have!
