FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The price for installation is $60.00 an hour, if your art or mirror weighs more than 125 pounds we may require an additional installer (would be $120.00 an hour for 2) and we may require a specific hardware. There really is no standard pricing on custom framing because we have hundreds of frames as well as many types of mat boards, acid free, as well as fabrics, we also have about 10 different types of glass/plexiglass.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to know where the piece of art is going to hang but we always try to frame for the piece, BUT if we can frame for the artwork and make it fit into a certain color theme or style we try to work with you to make it work! We then decide if you would like it matted and if so, how many colors and how wide should we make it. We discuss glass types (there are many to choose from, from premium clear to museum quality. We try to fit in your budget, we have stock frames to choose from as well as frames from Italy...
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in art history and education and taught art in Connecticut. My first frame shop in Indiana was a franchise, it required 2 months of training in Dallas, Texas. We had that shop for over 10 years before moving to Coral Springs Florida and working in and buying Frame It. My grandfather in Italy was an artist and framer, I spent the summers with him watching him cut his frames with a little hand saw and hand wrapping his own linen liners and helped him cart his many works to his exhibits in Sanbenedetto, Italy.
