Introduction: In 1994 Rita Bartmon opened the doors of Frame It, in Brookside Plaza, CORAL SPRINGS, hoping to pursue her passions for art (she has a BA in Art History, and taught art in Connecticut) while operating a successful community family oriented business. (She had a successful frame shop for over 10 years in Indiana before moving to Florida). In 2006 her son Lex joined the business and they worked to expand by offering installation services for mirrors as well as art. We are the official framers for the Seminole Casino, Maverick Entertainment, and Coral Springs Center for the Arts to name a few. We have enjoyed framing someone's baby pictures and then framing that same person's ketuba, college diploma or wedding photos. Being in the same location for 22 years makes us stand out from other frame shops and framers, our framers have been here for years, (we don't want framers coming and going, and certainly no investors, it's just us), we have over 65 years combined experience and we enjoy coming to work everyday to see what's new and exciting to frame or hang. AND TO BE CLEAR WE ARE IN CORAL SPRINGS, not Pompano Beach as it states on this site... Having been a framer for 30 years Rita has seen the changes in framing, from conservation matting, museum quality glass and materials (30 years ago we all used cardboard all of our materials stand the test of time... We enjoy seeing the same customers year after year and this year there has been a lot of re-framing artwork, heavy woods and dark matting are being changed for cool silvers, grays and whites, it's exciting to see the new looks every few years. We take the same care of framing a Picasso as we do framing your preschoolers precious artwork and enjoy our customers faces when they pick up their framed masterpiece! Lex also enjoys creating and working with customers, when he first joined us people would walk in... see him and ask for it's turned around and more and more people like to work with him. He also takes takes pride in cutting all of the frames and joining them himself...

Have used both of Rita's stores for a few years now, my mother has used them for over 20, and we love the atmosphere of a small family owned business (no investors) my 6 year old loves the play table, keeps her busy while l am deciding. l needed a mirror and Lex found the perfect frame (they also got me the beveled mirror) I needed to have it hung it so l left it there a few weeks, when he called to remind me it was ready l told him I was looking for an installer and told me he would deliver and hang it for me, 2 days later it was up and it makes my dining room look so much brighter and the frame was perfect. Thanks again

My mother has used frame it for years, I started using them a few years ago, Rita and Lex are both so helpful and have great ideas. I never knew that they hang pictures and checked out thumbtack, I got a few estimates but Lex told me if we frame it for you we will hang it for you for free, and they did it and my artwork is beautiful and hung exactly where l wanted it. They came in and it took less than a half an hour, my home looks great!

Looking for a framer who is reasonably priced and has a great eye? Look no further...Rita and her team are eager to please and are tops in customer service. No matter what size job, Frame It will provide you with several options that fit your particular budget. My design clients are from near and far, and I wouldn't consider using anyone else. She can master even the most complicated of framing jobs, and offers the best prices around.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The price for installation is $60.00 an hour, if your art or mirror weighs more than 125 pounds we may require an additional installer (would be $120.00 an hour for 2) and we may require a specific hardware. There really is no standard pricing on custom framing because we have hundreds of frames as well as many types of mat boards, acid free, as well as fabrics, we also have about 10 different types of glass/plexiglass.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We like to know where the piece of art is going to hang but we always try to frame for the piece, BUT if we can frame for the artwork and make it fit into a certain color theme or style we try to work with you to make it work! We then decide if you would like it matted and if so, how many colors and how wide should we make it. We discuss glass types (there are many to choose from, from premium clear to museum quality. We try to fit in your budget, we have stock frames to choose from as well as frames from Italy...

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a bachelor's degree in art history and education and taught art in Connecticut. My first frame shop in Indiana was a franchise, it required 2 months of training in Dallas, Texas. We had that shop for over 10 years before moving to Coral Springs Florida and working in and buying Frame It. My grandfather in Italy was an artist and framer, I spent the summers with him watching him cut his frames with a little hand saw and hand wrapping his own linen liners and helped him cart his many works to his exhibits in Sanbenedetto, Italy.
