My child just started Spanishlessons with Jeannette. She was responsive, professional and thoroughly explained her teaching style and building upon each lesson. She currently is signed up for once per week for 1.5 hours. I look forward to seeing my child expand her Spanish knowledge and fluency.

I was looking for someone close by that would be willing to teach Spanishlessons in a face-to-face setting. Jeannette provides me with Spanishlessons 3 times a week at my house. She is punctual and organized. Jeannette will assign homework if you want and is helpful at clarifying any questions you may have. I have recommended Jeanette to several people I know personally and would recommend her to anyone here on this site. I know she also does lessons online if you're so inclined.

Professional, warm, and fun. Jeannette has been teaching my 3 children Spanish online for a month and a half now. She is prompt to call every week and has great patience. She's sensitive the kids' style of learning and ages (7, 9, 10). I especially like that she has a book and a set curriculum so that we are quickly on the same page.
I have tarea (homework) during the week so the kids are learning between classes. Her communication is impeccable. At the end of every class we take time to chat about goals, what I want them to learn and the best order of operations. She gives me ideas for activities to do with the kids to make the learning more fun and effective. It's too bad we're in a different state. I imagine in person the kids would be super enthused taking her class as she seems very interactive and hands on. As it is, we still have fun and are making the best of it.

I have 3 children ages between 9-12 years old that are taking a great advantage in the Spanish classes she provides. They take it as a group for 1 hour twice a week. My kids love her, she's polite, friendly and a great patient teacher.

When it comes to pricing, I keep it simple and flexible. I don't require contracts or a minimum number of classes per month, so you’re free to take lessons as your schedule allows. My rates are competitive, and I offer a great value given the personalized attention you’ll receive. If you’d like more details, feel free to reach out and we can discuss what works best for you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I work with a new student, I like to first find out if they've studied Spanish before. If you're new to Spanish, that's great! It gives me the chance to build a strong foundation from the start. For students who’ve already learned some Spanish, I take time to chat with you and figure out where to begin so we can move forward at the right pace.
For beginners, I often recommend using a workbook for extra practice in addition to the materials I provide on Google Docs. For more advanced students, we focus on practicing directly in class, and I offer additional practice on Google Docs if you’d like.
My goal is to make sure your lessons are tailored to your level and that you feel confident in your progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a strong educational background that supports my work as a Spanish teacher. I hold a degree in Education with a focus on French and English from the University Mayor de Cundinamarca in Bogotá, Colombia. Additionally, I earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology and a minor in French from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
Beyond my education, my personal experience learning English has been invaluable. I know firsthand what it’s like to learn a new language—the challenges, the breakthroughs, and the persistence it takes. This helps me connect with my students and guide them through the process with patience and understanding.
