FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do offer discounts for tutoring packages of 10 hours or more. Please inquire for details. My rate does not include travel expenses. This will be determined by location mileage.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For the SAT/ACT, students will first take an official practice test to find areas of weakness. If there are recent scores available, I can use those as well. I will then create personalized lessons based on those results. We'll also do a general overview of the exam/test design. For high school math classes, I recommend that students send me materials (homework, worksheets, practice tests, etc) so I can prep the lesson before we meet. For college applications/essays, the first session is an open dialogue. It's very important that I understand who the student is and what goals he or she has. We'll then create the "one liner." This is the secret sentence that will build the best college application for the student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been an educator for 15 years. I was a master's level tutor at the Princeton Review for 9 years. I've also worked for many private, elite tutoring companies. Based on my experiences, I've developed the SchoolBreakers Method to beat standardized tests. It's highly effective for students at any level.
