I have been teaching dog training since 1975, and have to earn 36 CEUs every 3 years to maintain my 2 National Certifications. In so doing, I am current in the latest knowledge of dog training and behavior. I hold group classes as well as private lessons. I take great pride in teaching people how to build a bond of trust with their dogs by using positive methods of training. I have had several different breeds over the years, some earning titles with AKC, some becoming Pet Therapy Dogs and some becoming Service Dogs.

We had the privilege of using Jeanine's services 16 years ago when we were training our first Wheaten puppy and it was a very rewarding experience. After the death of our precious Shanae, we were not sure that at our senior ages we could handle another puppy again, so our first and foremost call was to Jeanine. It was the best decision we made! Our new pup, WYN, is now 25 months old, we have had her since she was 4 months and she is the joy of our lives BECAUSE of Jeanine's patience, positive training, persistence, sense of humor and love of dogs (and their humans!). We hired Jeanine for private lessons as well as attended her puppy classes. We found her skill and training to be irreplaceable and a necessity in our lives for our own knowledge and training as well as for our Wyn. We worked hard and attended more classes through SOTC to which Jeanine introduced us for more group training. Eventually, we realized that we had a young pup who might well turn out to be able to be a service dog for my husband and decided to work towards that goal as well. Wyn loves training, loves to work, loves to have a job and most of all responds well to all of Jeanine's positive training and reinforcement. One of the most important things I can personally say is that Jeanine has something a lot of trainers do not have - she has amazing INTUITION! She notices things that I do that may be confusing my dog and she notices Wyn's reactions to certain things that may cause confusion or missed signals. Most importantly she knows how to make us all work well together and makes it fun! Jeanine is always kind, positive, thoughtful, sensitive to what is going on with her clients (humans and dogs!) She is on time and on task. We could not have asked for more. She kept me on task and still does to this day.! Wyn passed a long and difficult service exam (CASD) when she was 22 months old - a real accomplishment which would not have happened without Jeanine's guidance. We will continue to train and improve our skills with Jeanine as long as we have the opportunity. She is tremendously talented and a lovely person! Sarasota is lucky to have her!

I have known Jeanine and her dogs for 10 years and have seen her train dogs to do things that are unimaginable! Who has dogs that take their own dishes to the dishwasher?? Who has a snazzy canine for a dance partner?? Jeanine does and she can help you do almost anything with your dog too.

We were new to the area and needed help with our GoldenDoodle puppy. After much research to find a knowledgeable, professional trainer, I found Jeanine. What a stoke of luck! Not only does she have years of experience training dogs, she has the credentials to back it up. Whether its basic puppy training or specialized service dog work, Jeanine has an uncanny way of connecting with your dog and with you. She listens to what your needs are and finds the best way to teach you to accomplish your goals in a force free way. Thanks Jeanine for a happy, well mannered fur baby!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do charge a set price for private lessons and group classes. There are discounts for repeated classes and package deals for private lessons. Please email me for that list.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the first lesson we get to know each other and I get to know your dog and we discuss what your goals are and you show me how much your dog already knows and tell me what his/her day is typically like.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 2 National Certifications that require 36 CEUs every 3 years to maintain. CPDT-KA and NADOI. I am an AKC Evaluator for the CGC and STAR Puppy. I co-owned the first Doggie Daycare in Sarasota and sold it after 4 years. I learned a lot about dog behavior by being with those dogs without their owners.
