FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! I subscribe to face and body art TV. I practice daily and continue going to classes and workshops.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a preschool teacher for 15 years. In 2000 at the school carnival the clown/face painter did not show up. I have a background in art and the school principal asked if I would try to fill in. It was overwhelming and difficult but as the day unfolded I realized I had an aptitude for it. I saw how happy it made everyone and I haven't stopped face painting... I immediately started learning everything I could and practice, practice, practicing! Since then I have retired from teaching and I am a full time makeup artist. I have been to many face and body art conventions and workshops. I now compete in major international face and body art competitions. I have won several awards. I continue to practice and perfect my skills.
