FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We work normally have a 10-20 minute free phone consultation (sometimes longer, depending on the complexity of the issues), then schedule either the first session which will focus on Personality Type Testing Assessment. Then, during that first session, I will encourage "storytelling" with that client so I can fully listen, clarify issues, and determine our dynamic approach to understanding the communication breakdowns, giving appropriate Type-related tools, mediating major issues that require third-party support and guidance, and empower the client(s) to gradually master the communication and conflict resolution skills on her/his/their own for their own independence and self-assurance.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
University of Miami School of Law, Juris Doctor, 2005; Florida Bar Association, 2006; Center for the Application of Psychological Type, MBTI(R) Personality Type Instructor, 2013; Center for the Application of Psychological Type, MMTIC(R) Personality Type for Children Instructor, 2014; Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediation Training, 2017; Life Coaching Certification, 2017; Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator Application Review Pending (observation requirements in process), 2017; University of Michigan, BFA Musical Theatre, Magna Cum Laude, 1999.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a family attorney I am well-aware of the tragedy of non-necessary divorce, as well as the pain of soul-stealing marriages. Marriage/partnership takes two people - some marriages simply must end for the health, safety, and/or morality of the partners, and still many marriages can be rescued, mended, and made incredibly meaningful and powerful with the right kind of empowering support. Marriage counseling has a fairly high failure rate when both parties are focused on how the *other* person "needs to change," but my approach is more in line with the principles of self-awareness, preservation, improvement, and, finally, actualization of one's life purpose, values, and calling. This process frees a person to find true happiness in their given situation through meaning, purpose, resilience, and embracing their unique, extraordinary individual gifts... gifts that may have been unnoticed or unappreciated for a significant period... or even for a lifetime! My approach can change that course, and bring clients to the freedom of true appreciation of themselves, their partners, and the gift of taking care of each other.
