Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a math, English, and humanities tutor with a top-notch academic background and an excellent track record of helping students of all ability levels meet their academic goals. I am an alum of Stanford University (B.A. 2007) and a former high school "mathlete" who won state-level math league competitions. I have 9 years of experience in professional tutoring, including several years (in another state) with a nationwide company that provides after-school subject help and SAT/ACT prep. For three years, I also developed SAT/ACT curriculum for that company including practice tests and lessons. I thus know these tests inside and out, including the new, revised version of the SAT that was implemented in 2016. I have attained perfect scores on the SAT (1600), ACT (36), GRE (340), and several SAT subject tests. Because of this background, one thing that distinguishes me is that I can work with very ambitious, advanced students just as easily as I can work with those who need a little more help with the basics. This is not true of all tutors! I believe in teaching concepts and study skills, not just formulas and rote memorization. I will customize my lesson plans and pace for each individual student to ensure that they master all fundamental concepts and fill in any gaps in their understanding. My lessons are highly interactive; I do very little lecturing. I guide the student through a problem-solving process until he or she can do it independently and explain the steps back to me. This is a key advantage of one-on-one tutoring that you cannot get with a larger group class! I recognize that each student learns differently, and I am skilled at explaining the same idea in multiple ways until we find out what "clicks." My goal is to help every student become a more confident and self-directed learner. I am laid-back and flexible but also enthusiastic and have high energy, always one for tossing a nerdy joke or cool bit of trivia into the lesson, and my past students have found this enthusiasm contagious. My philosophy is that if I do my job right, my student will get to the point where he or she doesn't need a tutor anymore. I enjoy the mental challenge of figuring out what a student needs from me and which explanation or analogy is going to "click" to help them understand something they're having difficulty with. More than that, I love the moment when a student "gets it"—makes a mental connection and realizes that something that seemed too difficult or daunting is actually totally within their reach. It's very gratifying to watch a student who's always believed he or she is, for example, "bad at math" or "doesn't test well" develop the confidence that they know what they're doing and can get the answers.

My daughter met with Daniel via Skype for several sessions while preparing for the ACT test. He was prompt, professional, and very accommodating with her crazy schedule. She felt very comfortable working with him. He provided her with practice tests and tips on how to approach each portion of the test. In the end it paid off, she improved in every subject and increased her ACT score by 2 points overall! We would definitely recommend Daniel.

I hired Daniel for SAT tutoring about a month before the test. In such a short time frame, he not only prepared me for the strategies and problems on the exam, but helped me overcome my long time fear of math. He was extremely patient and understanding, always offering encouragement and little tricks to guide me to the answer quicker. After every session, he gave me notes to take home and always followed up with an email of practice problems and study guides. I took the test recently and have never felt more calm or prepared. I feel it went really well and look forward to spreading his name in the community so others can benefit as well! I would highly recommend Daniel! (coming from the stubborn teenager who did not want any sort of help/tutoring!) :)
