Initially everything went quite well as far as scheduling and being timely. We talked through the numbers and agreed that it would take between $600-$800 installed for a problematic area I had along with some spots along the way. When I received the quote nearly 48 hrs later it was nearly double. When asked about his contract that mentions “1/2 of the yard” (since we also discussed not touching the sides of the fenced area) he said it was literally half of my backyard which according to him is a 200 sq ft area and “if any leftovers, we can patch areas” for $1,325!! When I explained I would not be proceeding he began to antagonize me by stating I should learn to read. If you are considering a job with this looney, run! Looking for quick job to screw people out of $$. Oh and if it helps any he stated “he charges asshole tax” to those who I guess don’t agree with his quotes so if you decide to go with him…. We’ll thats on you.

Details: Residential • Medium (1,000 - 5,000 sq ft) • Installed onto existing lawn • Clear old grass or weeds • I need the pro to provide the sod

Timeless Landscaping's reply
When I was at the clients home, I advised that the cost of sod alone for the affected areas of neglect were to be between $600 -$800, plus removal of the dead, and tilling of the dirt before laying new sod. Estimates were provided for the affected area, half of the yard (as requested by the client), and the entire yard. He agreed to the middle estimate, which was for half of the yard to be stripped and sod to be laid, and matting to be applied under his 4 year old's swingset. He has a patio built of 2x2 pavers, not professionally installed, that I added into the quote for sod also. The area that was quoted was a total of 1600 ft² for the entire yard, 800 ft² for half, and 400 ft² for the affected area. The only antagonistic behavior was on his part when I asked for an explanation of why he would book, then cancel within an hour. His language in the review says it all. This was a new one for us! $1395, not $1325, to remove 800 ft² of dead sod, replace it, apply the matting, and even explained that there was a $200 add on buffer in the event that sod prices increased by the time he was ready... so the actual price was $1125. I had to block their number for harassment purposes.
