FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each job is different and I don’t have a standard rate that can encompass everything I offer. A good rule of thumb is between $150-200 and hour for smaller needs like events, family portraits and headshots, and flat rates or packages for bigger tasks like automotive shoots, real estate, engagements and weddings. (Remember, you may only see your photographer for one hour during your portrait session, but it takes hours to edit, find locations, set up shoots, set up equipment, procure permission/permits, etc. So the job is far from over when I get back home.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depending on the job in question, I like to know what the expectation level is with the client. I ask questions to get a feel for them and see if anything in my portfolio stood out to them. The interaction shouldn’t be cold/dry, but a good chance to get to know each other before you invest your hard earned money on my services.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to taking photography at the University of South Florida, I’ve been a full-time paid professional photographer since 2007 when I was on staff at a magazine. I made the move to freelance work in 2011 and have spend my time off taking classes, workshops, working with other photographers, and learning how to improve my services in both tangible levels and personal interactions with clients.
