My "strength" is UNDERSTANDING how to design sound training programs that are geared towards maximizing LONG-TERM progress. These "periodized" programs incorporate planned recovery periods to facilitate YOUR adaptation to variable training loads and intensities. In 1988 I published what appears to have been the 1st article on periodized training in a general fitness magazine in the US-- Bicycling Magazine. Velo-News, a bicycle racing magazine, subsequently several articles of mine on both periodized training and strength training for cyclists. As a former competitive weightlifter, I appreciate.....and understand how critical it is to MASTER technique in strength training! Without good "technique" you are more susceptible to injury and are less likely to reach YOUR potential! I have experience working with boys and girls and men and women ranging in age from 10 to ~80 years old. Whether your goals are: sports conditioning; "basic" fitness; weight management (loss/gain); improved aerobic fitness; increased strength; or bodybuilding my approaches WORK! I will meet with YOU (at no charge!) to discuss your goals/objectives, your current fitness level and your training. Then, I will develop YOUR basic training program (flat 2 hr fee). WE will then implement that program---making regular [usually weekly] modifications as necessary. WE will also develop the skills YOU will need to succeed. Over time YOU will wean yourself of me!! YOU will learn HOW to train, how to modify your workouts....and how to motivate yourself! I also do my best to remain current with the peer-reviewed scientific literature in human performance and applied nutrition. To that end, it is my belief that YOU can succeed without spending your $$$ on useless or only marginally useful nutritional supplements! Yes, there are some supplements/ergogenic aids that DO work---but are they APPROPRIATE for YOUR level? Bottom line: if you want "instant" results (which tend to be shorter-lived and injury producing) please look elsewhere! However, if you desire a fitness/conditioning program that will work over the LONG-TERM and want to learn HOW to train.....please consider what I offer!!!See more
