My name is Samuel I had Titan Flooring in my house for a laminate floor installation. Met with Johnny and he gave us great advise on picking up the right laminate. Came out beautiful. We did had an issue, one of the workers dented the refrigerator. I wrote a bad review before. but I want to take it back; Johnny reached out to me explaining the personal unexpected reasons why the refrigerator issue wasn't handled and an spot that need some extra work on the floor. We were able to address the issues. He Took care of the refrigerator damage and he is taking care of the spot that needed extra work and some fillings. I will recommend this company again. As a matter of fact I am using them again. I asked to give me a quote on laminate floor for the upstair of the house now. Thanks Johnny for reaching and taking care of the remodeling of our house.

Mike tore out an existing decayed driveway and then poured a ~1,000 square foot concrete driveway for me. I had previously met with 8 contractors. While Mike wasn't the least expensive he wasn't the most expensive either. He and his team did an incredible job with my driveway. He did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it. I have already recommended him to a friend.

JSR, Jessie Seger and crew replaced soffit and fascia that had rotted, and a few odd jobs I needed. I have had a hard time finding someone reliable to do quality work on my investment home, and I'm so relieved I finally found this company. Next year I'm going to contract them to paint the exterior and install a backyard fence. And if I can afford renovation, I will certainly consult with JSR. I highly recommend JSR for the quality of the work, and the friendly, efficient, timely service.

I purchased vinyl planks to replace carpeting in 2 bedrooms but did not know who to hire to install the flooring. I called a neighbor who had been very satisfied with the flooring she had done and she highly recommended Diversified Floor Care. I went online and was pleased to see Diversified Floor Care was listed on the Thumbtack website. I called Diversified and spoke with Larry. Since I already had the room measurements he was able to give me a quote for the installation. Not only was it a great price they were able to work on the day I picked, four days later. The workers were on time and were very courteous. They immediately got to work. They were extremely skilled and the job was completed well before I expected. The debris was cleaned up and the furniture they had moved was back in place. To my surprise the invoice was the same as the quote given with no extra costs. I highly recommend Diversified Floor Care. The flooring was installed perfectly and I have had many compliments.

I was looking for someone to install wood flooring in my living, dining, master bedroom and kitchen. Daniel contacted me to come by and give me an estimate. I found Daniel, his cousin Patrick and his brother to be very knowledgeable and they made a couple of suggestions about the best way to install the floors, what they could do to fix a bad spot in the concrete the floor was being installed on and gave me a fair estimate. The morning of the install, the guys showed up on time, ready to get started. The Hickory wood I selected had multi-shades, so they asked me if I wanted to blend all the shades or try to limit the coloring. The install took 2 days, and my floors look beautiful. I did have to call Daniel to come back about 3 wks later to redo an area that I didn't like how the blend of colors looked. He and Patrick wanted to make sure I was happy with my floor, so they assessed the situation and came up with a plan to take the floors back about 8 rows, re-mix the wood pieces and put it all back together. I should have said something when I first noticed the area, but I thought it would look better as I got used to it. They had a very difficult situation to deal with, but they were able to resolve it to my satisfaction and I'm very thankful they are a company who truly wants to satisfy their customers. You won't be sorry

It was a pleasure to do business with Charlie and David. We hired them for the rather unusual job of installing hardwood on top of concrete. This is a job that is commonly done in many parts of the world (Europe, South America, Asia) but which most installers in the US will not do because it is painstakingly laborious...the concrete has to be polished, sealed and then each single piece of hardwood has to be glued and tightened individually. This is not something your average installer will do, and Charlie and David did a wonderful job!!! Highly recommended!!!

This is the second time I'm hiring Alex and I am still more than happy with his work. We hired him to repair shower bases that had been damaged by another contractor and he did more than expected when repairing them. He removed the old tiles, grinder all the concrete, fixed the slope and then, re install new tiles. His work was very precise and looks amazing compare to what it was before he came. As he did a great job there, I also hired him to tile an exterior wall with marble. Once again, I am more than happy with the quality of work. Will hire again and again!

David is a highly skilled professional with superb work ethics. He successfully executed the various concrete applications in our home addition. They included demolition, new slab and footer, poured tie beam and installation of 2 structural columns. A new wall installation was also needed. All work passed the rigorous requirements of FEMA inspections. It was a pleasure working with this company. Communication is excellent. We highly recommend David. Thank you to the entire team.

Ive Had Tom Craig come out to do my house, I have a 1970's house that needed remodeling, and well they did the job and more. Installed my floor, made sure all the additions to my house were in perfect working order. They even installed a concrete patio on the outside.. I would confidently use them again if I needed a kitchen remodel or a new house

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you find a good concrete contractor?

Concrete contractors pave driveways, build foundations for homes, install retaining walls, create hardscaping for front and back yards, build concrete steps, and so much more. When searching for a driveway contractor, read reviews from previous customers and ask for referrals. Ask the contractor for photos of examples of their work that’s similar to what you want. Confirm they will get the proper permits so your driveway is up to code. Hiring a driveway contractor to install concrete can average $5-$6 per square foot, or more, depending on where you live, the slope and grade of the driveway site, and regional labor costs. For a new asphalt driveway, the cost could average from $3-5 per square foot. A standard concrete driveway of 500 square feet averaging $5-$6 per square foot would cost $2,500-$3,000 — so it pays to research someone who will do quality work. Excavation and grading work can increase your cost per square foot significantly. Ask whether the contractor provides a materials and labor warranty for their work. Some cracking of the concrete may occur as it settles, but you should talk with your contractor about any structural or aesthetic concerns you have. When hiring a concrete contractor, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to redo a concrete driveway?

Replacing or renovating a damaged or time-worn asphalt or concrete driveway can boost your curb appeal and add to your home value. If your concrete driveway is nearing 20 years or more, it may be wise to invest in an entirely new driveway, instead of redoing your current one. Asphalt driveways average 15-20 years of life, so if you start needing major repairs around the 15 year mark, weigh the pros and cons of repairing or replacing it. Request bids from two to three driveway contractors to determine pricing and project scope, and check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • The national average cost to hire a concrete specialist is $2,750, but that price can vary greatly depending on the work needed to repair and resurface your concrete driveway, the square footage of the project, current costs of concrete, and regional labor rates.
  • Driveway contractors average $2-$3 per square foot to smooth and resurface your asphalt driveway.
  • Resurfacing concrete driveways averages $3-$10 per square foot. Pricing can depend on repairs needed, project size and geographic location.
  • Nationally, the average cost for resurfacing a 500-square-foot driveway ranges from $2,000 to $5,000.
  • Sealant for a concrete drive can cost $20-$80 per gallon.
  • Sealant for an asphalt drive averages 25 cents per square foot.

What do paving contractors do?

Paving contractors can be hired to install a concrete or asphalt driveway at your home, office or property. They can also repave an asphalt or concrete driveway that has been damaged by time, weather or heavy loads. When you are looking for a driveway contractor, request quotes from at least three professionals who are in good standing and have great customer reviews. They should do a site visit and write you a bid, detailing the work involved, materials needed, approximate length of the project and estimated cost.

The site for your new driveway will determine costs and the work required for your contractor. First, the ground must be excavated to lay a clear path. This means removing any trees, bushes and stumps. Next, the driveway contractor will grade the area, making a level surface for the concrete or asphalt. To ensure proper drainage, driveway contractors should install a sub-base of compacted gravel (or similar) 4 inches-8 inches deep, depending on your soil type. Then the concrete or asphalt may be poured and smoothed over the top. Your driveway contractor should recommend an appropriate sealant for your climate and advise you on curing time.
