FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. The state of Florida requires continuing education, but I go well beyond what the state requires. I have completed 22 hours as of July, 2015.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My knowledge and studies in building science and attention to detail steered me towards home inspections.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Pre-sale Home Inspections: I find every potential issue with the home before the seller lists the home, so the seller can rest easy when they have an offer and the buyer hires their own Inspector, that all issues were previously addressed.. Buyer's Inspection: Like I stated earlier, I inspect each house as if my own family members were purchasing it. Insurance Inspections: - Four point Inspections: These are usually required for homes reaching the 20 years old mark. -Wind mitigation: This inspection checks the buildings windows, doors, roof covering, roof shape and roof to wall connection. Could save the home owners hundreds of dollars a year by having the exemptions. -Roof Certification: Unfortunately, the insurance industry considers a roof that is 20 or more years old as in need of replacement. I check the actual status of the roof and if the roof is serviceable, I write a certification that is good for 5 years.
