As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), my approach is deeply rooted in the values I grew up with – a household where being of service to others and never leaving anyone behind were non-negotiables.
As a kid, I got into my fair share of trouble for coming home without my little sister. I vividly remember having to walk several blocks back to school to get her.
My mother’s wise words still echo: “I don’t know why you showed up here without the person you left the house with.”
Being of service to others is now a way of life.
During the week, I can be found in the kitchen, cooking for my family… and making enough so my husband can drop off plates to friends and family in the area. Tangible acts of care like these always remind me how profound kindness beyond words can be.
My late mother, Rose, instilled in me an ethos of genuine care and support that’s now intricately woven into the fabric of our practice. Her memory still serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration. I can truly relate to the impact of life’s unexpected challenges. Losing my mother while nine months pregnant introduced an additional layer of complexity as I navigated the emotions of grief and anxiety while preparing to embrace motherhood for the first time.
In 2019, my father made a final request while he was in hospice care. He asked us never to leave anyone behind… and implored us to find and maintain peace. His words resonate deeply within our practice, guiding our mission to assist others in discovering peace throughout their journey.
