FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on what needs to be done as well as my interest in the project. Some projects are complex by their very nature and some are quite straightforward, and so are priced less. I also entertain joint ventures and trade shoots on a very selective basis, again, depending on the nature of the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know the new client and spend time to learn more about what they want to achieve in photographing their event and developing a detailed timeline of what is going to happen and what they will get when it's over as well as followup. I also like to learn about how comfortable they are with a computer as many times photographs can be delivered electronically, and many actually prefer that, and i want to insure the new client is comfortable with any method I use to transfer the photographs - online, CDs, DVDs, flash drives or actual prints. One of the most important aspects of photography is to getting the subject to be comfortable in front of a camera - - - to many that's easy; however, for others, it does not happen until there is a bond of trust between the subject and photographer - - - and that's what I try to establish.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education is in the areas of physics and electrical engineering with a specialty in optics along with specialized photographic training in the military. This includes special methods for landscape and aerial photography as well as advanced photo enhancement techniques. I have also been a Visiting Fellow at Harvard working in areas of computer graphics and processing for virtual reality applications in commercial media. I have maintained Top Secret National Security Clearances that can be reactivated as needed. These clearances are granted only after an extensive background investigation.
