FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I start with a flat rate of 35 for regular handyman maintenance, fixing drywall, lighting, door handles, interior door, light electrical, and other such things around the house. For plumbing I charge 65 dollars an hour flat rate but that can easily change depending on the job, for changing a water heater out it is generally 25, that includes all the material except the actual water heater. If I need to change out the flapper and guts of a toilet I will charge less seeing as it is a more simple job. I try my best to be fair with prices because I know how expensive things can get.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I try to find out as much as I can about the issue at hand, the more I know about what is going on the easier, and quicker, it is for me to do the job. After completing the job I usually ask if there is anything else I can help them with, if I am not an expert in it I know many people, from working on construction sites, that may be able to give a better answer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing handyman work since I was a child, it started off working with my father around the house and once he opened up his own handyman company I made most of my money there through highschool and part of college. I decided to further my expertise and decided to go into plumbing, as of right now I am a third year apprentice at a plumbing union and I will soon have my journeymens liscense.
