FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Its all in the measuring. If I have the dimensions of the project. (room size and ceiling height) It tells me most of what I need to know. Then scope of work or description of what you want done. What walls, which trim? doors...how many? etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a member of PDCA (Painting and Decorating Contractors of America), we have had meetings almost every month. I have been a member since 2005. Each speaker present at our meetings has given me new insight into that subject he or she has lectured about. From Ladder safety to newly developed paint and wall-covering products. PDCA has set the standards of the Painting & Wall-covering Trade. Also provided are online Contractor seminars to keep us up to par. Also networking with my peers in the trade.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always liked to work with my hands. Thinking about sitting behind a desk all day would bore me. As my major in college was Architecture and Design, It made me happy to work a project from beginning to end. Colors and design can control your feelings. For me to know that there are thousands of walls waiting to be made into works of art.....That was a challenge t o me.
