FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not really that complicated but our billing procedures usually require a 20% deposit and the remainder is due upon completion of the job. Prices are based on the service being provided in its entirety, the materials being used, and also the size, height, and slope of the roof. We do not usually include wood work in our initial proposal because a lot of the time it's unforeseen and we don't really know until we get in there and start working. Sometimes there is obvious wood damage and we can give the homeowner a rough estimate, but our fees for wood work are $45.00 per man hour plus the cost of materials.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every two years I complete 12-hours of continuing education as a requirement from the State of Florida DBPR. I also attend various seminars and expos when they come around, and I stay connected with other contractors through forums and blogs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It started off as a summer job when I was a teenager as the years passed I just found myself learning more and more about the trade and finding my place in the industry.
