My Espanol Tutor

I am a Spanish tutor who thoroughly enjoys educating English speakers. I do what I do because I enjoy seeing the progress in my student's language skills and sharing with them the feeling of accomplishment that comes with it. I help my students to be comfortable learning the basics of a new language. If necessary, I help guide them through their Spanish homework and projects that are sometimes overwhelming. Whether I am helping someone interested in learning a new language on their own or a student taking a Spanish class, I have the skill set and knowledge to assist and deliver real results. I believe that learning a new language is incredibly enriching and being able to understand and speak Spanish in Florida is invaluable. I am an educator who is specialized in Spanish for English speakers. I am currently employed by Seminole County Public Schools and have been teaching beginner Spanish (conversational) and Spanish 1 for 13 years. Beginner Spanish -- In this class, I teach others some common words and expressions that are used often by native Spanish speakers. I teach the correct pronunciation and information about countries where Spanish is spoken and their cultures. Spanish 1 -- I teach how to do the following: a) Engage in conversation in Spanish to express feelings and ideas and exchange opinions; b) Demonstrate understanding of spoken and written Spanish on a variety of topics; c) Present information and ideas to an audience through speaking and writing in Spanish; d) Demonstrate understanding of social interaction patterns within the Spanish culture through participation in cultural activities; e) Apply knowledge of the Spanish language and cultures to further the knowledge of other disciplines; f) Analyze and use different patterns of communication and social interaction appropriate to the setting; g) Demonstrate knowledge of use of the Spanish language within and beyond the school setting. I also have 30 years of experience as an educator in the public school system. I have knowledge and understanding of world geography and world history. I have classroom experience with pre-K through high school and have tutored several students enrolled in college university. I have a bachelor's degree in education specializing in social studies. I have a Florida Department of Education certificate in Spanish for K-12.
