I'm good at what I do which I have been doing for 30 years. Also, my fee structure is consistent with the large publishing houses, only greatly reduced because I have little to no overhead.

It is vitaly important to edit and proof your own work first. This is how you know about the consistency of your work. It is always important to have another pair of eyes to ensure that your work is cohesive with correct sentence structure, proper grammar and appropriate punctuation.
