FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I frequently visit with industry partners and have trial sessions to stay current with the needs of clients. Specialty service providers such as tailors, seamstresses and other image consultants are always on speed dial for me to keep abreast of the latest practices as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a young lad, I was heavily influenced by modern gentlemen in various industries. Reared by my grandparents, it was a way of life to "Look Sharp". I was taught early in life to be neat and that presentation will play a big role in attaining success in life. Many memories and conversations many years down the road, I developed a standard for myself. I gained a passion for helping others put their best foot forward, particularly in the area of image and wardrobe. It suddenly became apparent that there's only one chance to make a first impression. The idea is to show up to the game, ready to play. My grandfather would often say "If you look like you mean business, then people will likely take you serious"..."Be ready, be prepared and be consistent". My Grandfather, a brick mason by trade, was hardly ever seen not put together. A man in uniform for many years, as a World War II Veteran and on into the field of masonry & contracting, he made it his business to practice what he was preaching. After being the right-hand-man to such a solid gentleman, the foundation was laid. When you look good, you feel good and in most cases, there becomes a positive energy about the individual. From this, comes good deeds. If this energy can be shared with the world, it will ultimately affect change for the better. It is then, that Look Sharp will have made a contribution to society and the lives of its supporters.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
A day in the life of a Style Engineer is always exciting! There are times when I have requests for personal shopping and no other services and then there are times where the primary service in demand is personal styling. I keep myself pretty diverse in activity as I am able to mix in a style seminar or two during odd times. This serves me well as I am able to promote the full spectrum of my services. This is a rewarding career and the true benefit comes when you hear from a new client or just someone who knows of you and they applaud you for something that you have done for a client. I always try to do more than my client asks of me.
