Todd painted a couple bedrooms, laundry room, bathroom and closets for us. He advised on paint choices and finishes as rooms had bright colors and we were going neutral grays. I appreciate he took extra time to deal with dry wall screws popping out, wall blemishes, prior painting flaws, etc. He worked efficiently and had a fair price for the work. I've made plans to invite him back for more projects.

This review will probably be too long, so let me sum it up: if you are looking for quality exterior painting in the Omaha area using old school technique (brush/roll and NO sprayer) for an affordable rate, the search is over, Todd Studer of Pro-Edge Painting is the man for the job. Period. I had 16 different people/companies out to give estimates for painting my tri-level home, and I am not exaggerating. It proved difficult to find someone who would not use a sprayer. I did not have the time to do the job myself, and I especially had no desire to paint the "elevated" areas. So I wanted to find someone who would do the job the same way I would do it, with brushes and rollers. Furthermore, I will not hire someone that I do not fully trust because I can't always be around to supervise. These two main requirements are what caused my search to be so extensive. When I first started communicating with Todd (I found him through an app called Thumbtack), he was prompt, courteous, and very professional with his responses in both text/email and on the phone. He stood out in that regard. He always showed up on time, something I value a lot because it's becoming increasingly uncommon lately with people who "work for themselves". The quote from Pro-Edge was not the lowest, but it was still less than half of the highest. Among the 15 others, Todd stood out to me as the best bang for the buck considering his methods for prep work/painting as well as the commitment to using a high quality durable product from Sherwin-Williams. Money aside, I had good vibes. I did not have to pay anything until the prep work was complete, at which point he required me to pay 1/3 of the overall estimate. He assured me that I would not pay him another dime until I was completely satisfied. Now that's what I want to hear! Todd had two super friendly helpers named Shawn and Ashley that did a significant amount of the work. There were times where Todd was out giving estimates and/or working another job site, which is not exactly what I expected or hoped for, but thankfully they were competent and trustworthy. This is probably the only thing I could nitpick about, simply because I got a "one job at a time" feel from him during his initial trip out to give an estimate; it's not like he reneged on a promise to be there every minute of the job. It was 6-8 weeks from the time Todd gave me a quote to when I accepted it, and he never pressured me. He started soon after that. Prep work began on 7/8 and the job was completed on 7/29 with some intermittent weather delays (heat and rain). They did not do any work over the weekends. I was pleased with the amount of time it took. Of course I realize it could've been done much quicker but that honestly would've made me feel like they rushed it. There were several issues that sprung up throughout the job, such as discovery of rotten wood in front fascia and siding on the north side of house. Todd did not feel comfortable making repairs as extensive as this, so he recommended that I consult with a carpenter for a long-term fix. I appreciated his no-nonsense approach to delivering bad news, and when giving guidance he took into consideration my plans to live in this home a long time. There were also some weathered areas of the house where the paint did not cover as well as he had hoped, so he ended up having to put two coats on. That was not part of the estimate, but Todd refused to charge me a penny more than what he originally quoted. He did not even consult with me on that decision. He didn't ask "Does this look alright or do you think should we put another coat on?" He knew it could be better even if I was unable to notice. I have to say I was astonished with how well he handled unfavorable scenarios. He was unflappable. I think I could've dumped a gallon of paint over his head and he would laugh it off. When the job was completed, I found a couple things that they missed. They promptly returned to correct them. Todd assured me that I don't just get a "one and done" chance to bring up any issues I discover. If I find something down the road, just give him a call. He not only does a great job, but he stands by his work. If I need any painting done in the future, interior or exterior, I will be calling Pro-Edge.

Todd did a great job painting my condo, as I was getting ready to sell it. The previous owners had done some "interesting" DIY painting in the master bedroom that necessitated some extra wall prep. The end result looks great - feels like a completely new place!

This was a full paint on a house I was flipping. It was an old house with a lot of problems. He struck a good balance between cost and quality which was appropriate for the property we were dealing with. Todd was very communicative and when unexpected issues came up he was quick to communicate with me and offer his professional opinion and give me options of what could be done. A lot went wrong with this job, but none of it was Todd's fault and he handled all the drama with a high degree of professionalism.

Every company handles estimates differently. Pro-Edge uses a square footage formula combined with an assessment of the current condition of the project to be completed. Pro-Edge stands behind their quotes. The price your quoted is the price you pay. There are never any hidden charges.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the initial contact, we travel to your home to provide you with a free estimate. Every job is different. It's important to take a first hand look to make sure we are providing you with the best service possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The headwaters of Pro-Edge Painting date back to 1991, when the owner, Todd Studer, was in Miami helping with relief work after the devastating hurricane Andrew. There, Todd met Bill McBee, owner of McBee Painting and former head of the southeast chapter of the Painters and Decorators Association of America. Todd learned every aspect of the industry from Bill, and brought that knowledge to the Omaha/Council Bluffs area in 2000.
