This was the best decision we ever made for our daughter The Team is the best I highly recommend them I will be using them again in the future. They made a connection without daughter and made it easy for her to learn and our daughter felt extremely comfortable . A rapport is important and they make sure they establish one with the parents and the student.Jul 12, 2018Verified

True professionals. They offer much more than just SAT tutoring.Oct 23, 2017Verified
Our student said, after her third appointment for ACT prep with Mr. Marquette, "I wish he'd been my math instructor all along!" She looks forward to their sessions and is making great strides in knowledge, skill and outlook. Darryl humbly but correctly identified his gifting: he CONNECTS with his students in a unique, personal way that makes them rise to the challenge and believe they can succeed. His tips, strategies, and approach are highly beneficial - we are so happy we made this choice!Sep 1, 2017Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? Our typical process starts with a phone conversation to discuss specific needs (ie subject to be tutored, desired day(s)/time(s) that are most convenient for client etc.) Pricing will be discussed during this time as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I was hired to tutor math (statistics) at UCLA as an undergraduate to fellow undergraduates that were struggling. Upon graduation I began teaching with a public school district in the Los Angeles area. While working in the public school system in Los Angeles, I volunteered with local non profit organizations to provide academic support in the area(s) of math. I later relocated to Atlanta and began working as an educator in the public school system and eventually decided to start my own academic support / mentoring program.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? The inspiration behind A Success Academics came from two sources, GOD and "OUR" children. I have always had an affinity for young people and helping to shape lives. After working as an educator for many years, I watched over and over, kids fail not because they lacked knowledge, but they lacked "chemistry". Chemistry in any relationship is fundamental, without it theres no connection. In order for the learning process to happen, there has to be a connection. God has always been a part of my life. I was led spiritually to take a leap of faith and start my own way of presenting academia to students, a way that would reach the highest of achievers to the lowest, but still make it enjoyable and build long lasting comprehension. Through A Success Academics, I have accomplished this goal.
