Introduction: My work is a brand all its own. Nobody does what I do. I don't care if it's just an email-- if it's important enough to you to word it right and you just aren't sure what to say, you can come to me. If you need to finish a brochure and you're feeling stuck or uninspired, I have words for you. If you need to come up with a clever title, a convincing paragraph, or a precise summary of a status quo, you have a one-size-fits-all to go to. If words are what you need or you think you have too many, ask me what I think. I have a heart for detail, an eye for marketing, and a feel for art. Precision and beauty are great partners-- and they play well with others, too. Writing is what I love. Years of homework and laundry have been delayed or forgotten in the wake of my tendency to suddenly need to write things down. I can't remember a time when it wasn't as natural as breathing for me. You know those people that can't stop singing? Like, they are ALWAYS singing something, whether or not it may be obnoxious to everyone around them? I'm like that, except I'm less annoying because writing doesn't make any noise until someone reads it out loud. When I'm driving, when I'm at the gym, when I'm in the store... I'm composing and pondering and shelling out words for myself, often too quickly to document. Ideas for ads, theses for blog posts, song lyrics, and poetry occur to me in such a way that I must keep pen and paper handy wherever I am. But really, the best part of all of that comes when I have a finished product. A polished, precise work that I can both be proud of and present confidently to anybody without filtering out people that I think may not like it. What I love about writing is that I get to play many roles. When writing a school essay, I must adhere to the commandments of the grammar gods. When writing a blog entry, I get to take artistic liberties with my grammar for the sake of tone and presentation while maintaining a coherent respectability. When writing poetry, all rules can be forsaken should they be unwanted. When writing dialogue, I get to get inside someone else's head and write from the perspective of someone other than myself. Writing is simply my nature, so if I get to work in a way that is purely derived from my soul, that means the world. I believe that large-scale success depends on small-scale integrity. Creative liberty, however, is an essential tool for unforeseen and inevitable bumps in the road, so a balance between regimen and flexibility is important to keep in mind at all times. Happy plays well; this is why I write.
