- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My usual charge is $135, however I can slide the scale down for clients who demonstrate financial need, and I regularly offer promotions (ex. through Thumbtack). If clients request it, I can offer a "superbill receipt" to them to submit to their insurance companies for reimbursement.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I listen carefully to the needs and desires of my clients and together we formulate goals for treatment. During the narrative of their history, I listen for any wounding messages they might have received in younger phases of their life which they might still believe. Then we work to heal those wounds and validate the truth about themselves as caring, responsible adults. Even adolescents can develop new understandings of themselves, generating a more positive self-understanding.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Besides my BA degree in Psychology, I have a Master's in Social Work (MSW) and am now licensed as a clinician. I also, as an ordained minister, got my Doctor of Ministry in the field of psychology and spirituality. My licensing requirements require continuing education, and I always seek out courses which are practical, that can immediately benefit my clients: mindfulness techniques, relaxation and stress-busting techniques that make positive changes in the brain.
