Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I enjoy learning about the different cultures that so many of my students have come from and love knowing that I'm helping them learn not only English, but about culture in the states as well. For my non-international students, the thing I like the most is being able to give them the help that they need whether it's for writing, grammar, pronunciation, or testing. There is no greater feeling then knowing that a student you have worked with has either - a. passed the test you helped them with, b. gotten them a better grade for a class, or c. helped them get a job or be able to do their job more efficiently and effectively due to the help I provided them with.

The few time I`ve spend learning english with Mrs Brown was very worthy. When learning whit her, there is almost no idle time. She`ll always find something to keep you busy. Which should be what you are looking for if you realy want to learn english, and learn it fast.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started teaching as a work study for the University of MN. I was placed with an after school Reading program in St. Paul. From that one placement, I found a niche for teaching and taught of another after school program for 4 years (throughout my college career). After graduating, I became a teacher's assistant at a school and from their taught my own class in the summer for an Academic Achievement program focusing on increasing reading, writing, and math skills. This teaching led me to decide to go abroad and teach in South Korea for a year, and now I'm teaching English to Adults in the states.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

There have a been a few recent jobs that I've been most proud of. One was a Native English speaker who I helped prepare to take the Compass test which contains a reading and sentence correction/grammar section. He needed to pass this test as part of the process to become a police officer for Atlanta's Department. After working with him for a few months, he eventually took his test and passed it. :) Another recent job is a student that is originally from India, but is currently studying Pharmacy. He needed help with writing a paper and he ended up receiving an A on it with my guidance, suggestions, and editing.
