Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My work is different because I prefer to make all my own food. For example, if a certain recipie calls for cream of chicken soup, I am more likely to make it myself than to buy it. I do this for my family at home, so have gotten quite a bit of practice. Ask me how long it took to to master mayonnaise! I like the people that I meet, most are eager to learn and ready to have fun. Cooking allows me to be creative in ways that I can't be in my first career.

I've known Mike for a few years now, and had heard he could handle an oven (or two, along with the range, the blow torch, and other kitchen utensils I couldn't figure out how to use), but haven't sampled his tasteful talents until recently and wow!! At first arrival, the dinner placements and floral decor let you know you're in for a treat. We had four courses with each excellently paired with a glass of wine, champagne, or mixed drink. The chilled gazpacho was like a perfect flavor explosion coupled with the wine to bring out subtleties in each. Then on to the portobello mushroom mousse with homemade lemon caviar (out of this world creations and were simply phenomenal). The lamb chops were so tender, seasoned just right including a homemade balsamic vinegar glaze, and plated beautifully, it made it difficult to 'mess up' the presentation - but one bite and that thought went out the window! Dessert was fresh de-seeded (no one really likes to crunch on the seeds) raspberry ice cream. Now sure, all of this sounds great, but if the chef's personality stinks, no one cares how good the food is. Mike is by far one of the kindest souls I know and you can truly see he enjoys cooking, not just for himself, but for others especially. My partner and I still talk about how this intimate evening was better than some of the 'finest' restaurants in the city.

I have had the pleasure of enjoying several dishes from Klingon Kitchen! From the Lemon Ginger Caviar to Porkbelly Onigiri to simple dishes like Chicken Coconut Soup. Everything always tastes like it made by someone who not only enjoys cooking, but is really good at it. Will definitely hire Mike to cater my next party.

Mike (Kitchen Klingon) conducted a private baking class for my two granddaughters (11 and 13). He was knowledgeable, patient and supportive. The girls had a wonderful experience....and the cake they made was honestly one of he best I've ever had.

We have contracted with Mike to come to our home for cooking lessons with my teenagers. This was the first of several lessons. He had a great rapport with the kids, and they are excited about the upcoming lessons. The food challenged their skill level with a delicious outcome. I highly recommend Mr. Ruppert for such services.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I cook all the food for my household and I am constantly learning and trying new things. I also periodically take classes to keep my skills honed. I like American and Italian food but have cooked Vegan, Vegetarian, Indian (ask me about my Saag Paneer!), Mediteranean, Molecular Gastronomy (powdered Nutella!), Thai (chicken coconut soup is a fav), Mexican, Japanese...there is nothing I can't tackle!

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I try very hard to ensure my clients are happy! I am always more than fair about price and time. My reputation is important to me and I guard it carefully.
