About
Have you ever looked at your family and thought to yourself (hopefully quietly): "Goodness, our family is so dysfunctional!" "Why can't we just get along?" "Why can't we just be normal?"
If you've asked yourself any of these questions, you've come to the right address. I'm happy to help your family work to become more "functional."
In a direct yet gentle way, I ask my clients focused questions, provide guidance, and offer them concrete tools to move forward. Clients come away from sessions feeling well understood and empowered.

I was lost when I spoke with Daniel the first time. It took him no longer than 40 minutes to hear my story, reassure me my feelings were correct, and suggest alternative behaviors for my anxiety. Although my family situation is not going away, I have a plan. I do not think I would have been able to address and handle these family issues without him. My situation is complicated, my feeling about Daniel is not complicated, but thankful.

Daniel is patient, punctual and is extremely easy to talk to. He’s good with children as well as adults and I’d recommend him to someone looking for a counselor or therapist hands down.

Daniel Gopin has been very great with my two children and getting them to open up and letting him know how they really feel. He doesn’t try to push them or make them feel uncomfortable. They love playing the therapy games he plays with them and is very in depth with their feelings. Would highly recommend!

Daniel is a gem. He has helped to positively transform my relationship with my son. He listens and makes insightful points that are useful to both of us. We have learned, in a short time, to listen better, to be more patient, and have more shared understanding. We are rebuilding our relationship with Daniels help and guidance. Thank you!!!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a variety of packages and discounts depending upon the needs of my clients. I recognize that therapy can be expensive, and I try to meet my clients' needs. I do not accept insurance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, clients will call for an initial 15 minute phone consultation. This allows me to get a sense of what they're struggling with and whether I can be of assistance. The first session lasts for 45 minutes. With marriage and family counseling, at times 45 minutes doesn't suffice and in future sessions we'll meet for either 75 or 90 minutes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my masters in clinical community counseling at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. At that time, I completed my internship at a private day school. After moving to Atlanta, I began working in private practice at Trillium Springs in Marietta. Additionally, I offered counseling services at JF&CS in Dunwoody.
